HERC, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
It definitely take’s persistence, patience, and perseverance to build anything from the ground up, especially if you’re doing it the RIGHT way. Although tactics and game plans may change as I’ve learned more along the way from the beginning I knew I wanted to build a brand that’s inclusive and authentic. I also knew that Inwould have to be willing to evolve. And I think those principles has always carried Me in being able to grow My Brand. I had no blueprint to follow or prior knowledge before I begin, but I knew if I kept pushing and stayed consistent I could figure it out, and that has helped Me progress at every stage.
HERC, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m HERC GTH and I’m from Garland, Texas and a part of the GTH family. I’ve been doing Music and branding for almost a decade now, but just started taking it serious after I came home from being incarcerated in recent years. I try to live by and promote a movement of constantly progressing spiritually, mentally, and physically which is one of the foundations of Our God, Truth, Health brand and Movement.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
As an Independent artist in the Music business and an Entrepreneur I’m constantly funding and investing in myself. Having sources of income is key in being able to be successful in growing my business. I initially used money I had saved from Managing a Cosmetology business and other brands to begin My Music career and I’ve been blessed and fortunate over time to become profitable in My Music and other ventures as well.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Brand building is constantly overcoming obstacles. The business can be so watered down and even when willing to invest it’s hard to know where you can do legit business with all the scams available. I have a dating though, that no matter what I’m always going to “Do”. I think a key is being able to take “L’s” as Lessons and learn from them, and not allowing them to deter you from making your next move. That’s the name of the game as an Entrepreneur and Artist.
