We were lucky to catch up with Henry Torres recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Henry , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew that I wanted to be a writer professionally in 2006. I was studying Journalism and I presented a project of life with some lines of the book that I was writing. All my classmates and the teacher strongly recommended me to publish the book. I will never forget that day. My teacher cried when I was reading the fragments of my document. It was a sublime moment.
Henry , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Henry Torres and I was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida. When I was 8 months, my parents went back to Venezuela. So I was raised there. I started in the business with a publishing company in Buenos Aires, Argentina with my first book, “The Lethargy of the Spirits”. It was so special because I had the chance to see my book, for the first time, online and also in the most important book store in Venezuela, “Tecniciencias”. I was interviewed in radio, newspaper, magazine and tv. So I learned the process to promote myself and my book. I had the opportunity to provide to the young and elder people important material to read about spirituality, love, society and cultural aspects of South America.
I also have two songs on Spotify and Apple Music: “Miami Vibes” and “Barcelona Multidimensional
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In the artist’s path you can feel lost, sad and afraid sometimes. Some days you will see your material as a mess. But that’s the problem with perception. It depends of what you feel at the moment.
And other days, you will see the magic, the passion and the inspiration that you generate in the people who likes you.
You will change and, also, save the life of some people with your talent, your believes and your heart.
I had the habit, four years ago, to read some messages that I received from my followers and readers giving me the thanks for I did for them. That increases my love and my confidence.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
They most rewarding aspect of being an artist is to mix the invisible universe with the tangible world. That state of consciousness where you meditate with the infinite forces that go beyond limits. It’s a spiritual session that combines your emotions, believes, thoughts and experiences to create a master piece. You are aware, as an artist, that you can disconnect your audience from their problems of everyday to connect them with the power of the present moment.
