Alright, Heidy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I think a huge part of being successful is enjoying and trusting the process as you work toward reaching your goals. The fun part about accomplishing goals is the personal journey you take and the things you learn along the way. Success also means allowing yourself to dream big and trusting that you will reach your destination even when things get challenging.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am the person behind the scenes of Bites-n-Sites HTX. Bites-n-Sites HTX started as an Instagram page to showcase my food outings and adventures around Houston. Along with showcasing local restaurants and bars, Bites-n-Sites HTX also includes travel destinations, local events and businesses. My page started as a creative outlet and has brought along many wonderful opportunities. I’ve met so many great and creative people and I’ve collaborated with restaurants and businesses to help create content. Learning about content creation through my page motivated me to apply for a marketing internship @stufftodoinhouston with UNATION. I learned so much and met even more great people through this internship experience! There are many things I want to do with Bites-n-Sites HTX and am excited for what the future may bring!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I personally find that visiting a new place, doing something new, or just having a change in scenery has the power to make me feel refreshed and inspired. By highlighting my findings and experiences, I hope others can also find something that will make them feel inspired and excited.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

One of the most rewarding aspects of having a creative outlet is that you get to decide how you want to show up in your creative space; you get to decide what you’re passionate about and what motivates you. Another rewarding aspect has been the opportunity to connect with and build relationships with others. I’ve been able to connect with so many other creatives and content creators with similar interests as well as with other individuals that have been so supportive of my page!
