We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hector Soto. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hector below.
Hi Hector, thanks for joining us today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
Trying to participate in as many events as possible while attending school was one of the challenges we encountered. We were also on the waitlist for a number of different farmer’s markets that were packed with vendors. We also started our company while the covid epidemic was at its peak, so we focused solely on delivery for the first six months. We were affected by the Covid Pandemic since one of our marketplaces had to be canceled because of covid. But that didn’t stop us from obtaining values and valuing quality.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are a local company in San Diego, California, and we just attended the Del Mar Farmers Market. In San Diego, we also sell freshly roasted coffee and roast, as well as coffee drinks. We place a high priority on quality over quantity, therefore we strive to provide the highest quality coffee to all of our customers. We also sell several varieties of coffee beans from various regions, including Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Sumatra, and Mexico. In addition, we employ handcrafted ingredients, which sets us different from the competition. For example, our caramel sauce is produced from scratch, which distinguishes it from store-bought versions. As a result, we make an effort to use high-quality ingredients.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I’ve always enjoyed coffee and the way it’s brewed since I was a kid. As a result, I began to study how they roasted coffee. I also taught about the various sorts of brewing options available, which surprised me. Then on August 28th, 2020, I launched my own small business, and on that date, we launched our Instagram account @mrbrownbean. Over the course of a year, I couldn’t believe how much our account had grown. Guatemala and Colombia were also the first coffee beans we started with. There are now over 15 different varieties of coffee
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I began posting on Instagram about my new LAUNCHED to the business, and when I did, the community reacted positively. They all wanted to help me with my modest business. I was ecstatic to begin working on a project that I wanted to build and share with my community. In addition, I had wonderful consumers who assisted me by recommending my items to their friends and relatives. We now have a social media following, and we use it to promote forthcoming events and new products.
