Hector & Juliana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Our Business name is actually our business ADN. We are a second generation of TAILORS with knowledge in fashion since Hector Machuca is actually a former Project Runway fashion designer and Juliana a former fashion model. For many years we used to create COUTURE pieces for important customers and brands. As we moved to USA in 2016, we got involved in alterations industry which lead us to open our own shop dedicated to Alterations, Bridal and Custom Suits in which we use all our Couture knowledge and Tailoring skills to offer our customers the best service. Also, there is an important numerical meaning in two words; TAILORS COUTURE , as we are two
( Juliana & Hector ) with 7 letters each word which evoque our spiritual believing.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are the best tailors you will ever meet ! and I am completely proud of saying it because I know how skilled and prepared we are. We are second generation of tailors committed to offer our customers a high quality service on Alterations for all kind of clothes for both men’s and women’s clothing, specialized in prom and bridal alterations in Houston and Katy area. Our team has been meticulously selected to ensure every single order is performed with the best standards. We help customers to achieve the best look though altering their clothes use on trends and body complex, in this order we use our experience as stylish to guide the costumer to the process, sometimes they request something that might don’t works for them, or sometime that are unaware of how their clothes needs to fit so we always help them with that which is a complimentary service.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When we moved to the USA as immigrants, it was hard to start over, especially since we had been business owners in our home country. We arrived with the intention of opening our own business here as well, but it took time. During this process, we were tempted to change our path and take jobs unrelated to our expertise (which is in the clothing business) just to provide for our children. However, we decided to stick with jobs related to our careers, and even though the pay was not sufficient, we used the opportunity to learn more about the market and business landscape here in the USA.
We began saving and buying shop equipment, even though we weren’t sure when we would be able to open our store. We set up a studio at home and started building our clientele. All I can say is that God has guided us step by step, and continues to guide us today.
