We were lucky to catch up with Heaven Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Heaven thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

So I’ve always had a passion for baking. It’s just something I naturally enjoyed doing since I was a child. The older I got when it came to birthdays, family events, and holidays people would ask me to make sweets. I didn’t take my baking seriously until 2022. I was still hesitant, but I launched in July 2022. Coming up with the name was a lil difficult at first it was going to be heaven sent. I ended up going with heaven sweets it sounded more personal. Heaven sweets was taken on social media so I added LA to it since I’m from Los Angeles.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I’m a 24 yr old young black business owner. I take pride in my craft to make sure that not only my products are satisfying for the customers, but I also make sure that my customers are happy. Majority of the people who’ve supported my business have been returning customers or referred customers. Heaven sweets is really a young Woman who makes sweets based in Los Angeles.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

Before I invested in my baking business I made a list of utensils, baking products, boxes, and bags for presentation that I’ll need. Majority of my stuff came from Amazon, Walmart, and Michael’s.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The most effective strategy for growing my clientele was promoting my products. When I was promoting my products I was getting a lot of inquiries. Also, by me paying for promotion on Instagram it got me more followers and messages. I made daily post of desserts that I’ve had on hand that was available for purchase until I sold out. I accepted pre orders for those who missed out on the daily social media post of desserts.
