We recently connected with Heather Squicciarini and have shared our conversation below.

Heather, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers

I just graduated from the Sound Healers Academy and I was in the process of forming my business.Sunshine for the Soul, LLC. I was super excited because there was an adorable studio right down the block from my house that I had my heart on renting . It was perfect, beautiful, open and inviting . I met with the owner and I signed a contract gave my insurance papers and sent her the money for my first time renting. I was so excited. It was a success I had my first event planned.

It was the day of my first event and I had tons of emotions running through my body, nerves, excitement and wonder. The owner of the studio greeted me at the studio and mentioned she would meet me before each event to let me in, this brought me a lot of peace as I love having everything in order. It also made me feel I could guarantee a sense of professionalism to servicing my clients, which was extremely important to me. She also shared with me she advertised my event in the local paper and on her website. I was extremely grateful for her collaboration.

Since I grew up in a family business and have a degree in Business Administration I knew you needed to spend money to make money. So, I decided to advertise on Eventbrite, Facebook, Instagram and the local paper online to help spread the word. I was consistent with my advertising and it was definitely making a difference . Each month more and more people were coming to my sessions.

The strange thing was the owner started asking me a lot of questions each time I would rent , questions that made my gut think it was a red flag. How many people do you have, coming today? Where are you getting these people from ? Are you paying for advertisement if so where? I was thinking to myself she is acting really strange and doesn’t seem to be happy for me and my business. In the back of my mind I was thinking I needed to find a new place to rent first because it didn’t hold a lot of people only 8 comfortably and I didn’t like the vibe I was feeling. Even though the thoughts were in my mind I continued to rent from her.

Well a few months passed and I was so excited my first Sold Out Event was happening!! I was so proud of myself and so excited because it was 1 repeat customer who was bringing 4 friends and the other 5 people were brand new to my sound baths. I even had people reach out to me asking to join, which there was not enough room so I had to turn them away.

Well the big day had finally arrived my sold out sound bath day woohooo!!! I happily packed up my car with the beautiful comfy mats, pillows, eye masks and blankets which I purchased just for this sold out event. I decided I wanted to invest in making my clients more comfortable and relaxed, where they could just show up and receive.

So, I pull up right in front of the studio and think to myself that’s strange why is the studio dark and empty? The owner told me I couldn’t come early that day because she had a class going on and she would be there to meet me and let me in. So I proceeded to park and start to empty my car but first I wanted to open the door so, I left my trunk open and proceeded to the front door. Well, I get to the door and panic strikes me the place is locked up tight!! I was like wait what??? I knew there was a back entrance so I quickly ran to the back of the building to check to see if she left the back door open for me. Nope , locked up tight. I go grab my phone and text her, no answer. Call her I get the answering machine. I go on instagram and saw she just posted a picture so I Dm’d her and received no response. I continue to do this for about 20 minutes..

Now I am standing in front of a closed up tight yoga studio with all my attendees showing up to come to my sold out sound bath for relaxation and destress and the facilitator is locked out and can’t get them in the studio. I took a deep breath said to myself the Universe has your back continue to breathe.

I told each attendee what had happened that the owner never showed up to let me in. I shared with them that there is a lawn across the street and I will have the sound bath on the townships lawn if you would like to go and I will give you a credit for my next sound bath. Out of the ten people three people decided to stay. The other seven people left and I refunded them the money. Unfortunately, I lost clients due to the unprofessionalism of not having the studio available. The craziest thing is the owner decides to call me back exactly right when my sound bath time ended. She told me she had no phone service, and seemed to forget she just posted on instagram.

Till this day I have no idea why she locked me out and then proceeded to not answer the phone until my event time was over and then conveniently call me up. I do know that is the craziest story so far in the life of my business.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Heather Ella I am a certified Sound Healer, Reiki Master who also works with the energies of the Akashic Records. I was raised in a family business where our lives revolved around the business. My siblings and my major in college was chosen by not necessarily our gifts but what would best suit the overall benefit of helping the family business survive.

I married my high school sweetheart at the age of 23 and became a mother of four beautiful children who are all grown adults now. While raising my children I poured every ounce of my heart and soul into raising them. No decision was made without them being the priority. As each one of my children were picking a major for college, I often would think to myself, I am so grateful to be able to help them choose a college major based on their gifts not a business as the priority.

As my youngest child was heading to her sophomore year of college, I felt led to explore how I could discover a side business or passion that I could pursue. One day as I was perusing the internet and stumbled upon Susy from The Sound Healers Academy, her sweet demeanor and beautiful Alchemy Crystal Bowls caught my attention. I was contemplating joining and kept finding myself searching her website and fervently searching locally to learn sound healing. It was time to take my daughter back to college and I remember as we were dropping her off in Florida that is the day I said I am joining the Fall Class of 2022 Sound Healers Academy and putting myself as a priority. It was a tough three months working full time with 2 hours of commuting and fitting in this intense program. It was this step I took for myself that opened me up to a brand new journey. It was a journey of healing and choosing me after years of ignoring my inner voice.

After graduating in January 2023 with a Sound Healing Certification, attuned as a Reiki practitioner and Akashic Healing Certifications that was when Sunshine for the Soul, LLC was born. I then continued pursuing Reiki to become a Reiki Master and certified in Akashic Healing level 3. All three of these modalities are incorporated into my business.

The three modalities Reiki, Akashic Records and Sound Healing allow me to offer group sound baths monthly in person and online over Zoom, private/corporate events along with 1-1 sessions. Over the past two years I did a lot of clearing of my energy field along with healing parts of me that I kept hidden. It was that healing that led me to create “A Self Love Journey” course which we launch again in the Fall of 2024. The course is for anyone who hears the still small voice inside of them telling them they were made for so much more, the exact message I received years ago. I share with you all the tools I used to help me open up and see life in a different way. It was this realization that helped me heal and understand that “life does not happen to you but for you”. It is the tools I used to help release what was holding me back in life and keeping me small.

Everything in the universe including our bodies, is in a constant state of vibration. My crystal alchemy bowls are tuned to 528hz frequency which is the frequency of DNA repair and healing, love, miracles and transformation. These frequencies interact with our brain waves and our bodies energy centers or with physical or emotional aspects that need attention. When there’s a resonance between the bowl’s sound and the natural frequency of the body or its parts, entrainment occurs. This means the body’s frequencies can start to align with the frequencies of the bowl, promoting balance and harmony. Some benefits may include stress reduction, relaxation, mindfulness, emotional release and healing of mind, body and spirit.

Sound healing has been around for thousands of years used by Ancient Civilizations who were aware of the transformative and healing power of sound. When I create a session incorporating the energies of Reiki and Akashic Records during my sound bath including a guided meditation you will have a safe environment for you to withdraw from the outside world and enter a space to release all your tension and stress. You will come back to your center, where you can have more clarity, peace and inner calm. What sets me apart from other sound healers is the energies I channel into my sound baths.

My sessions allow me to be a channel for my clients to receive the exact energies using Reiki and the Akashic Records, that can bring them back to a state of calm and relaxation. Along with an open heart that has allowed my authenticity to shine through each session. As soon as you commit to a session the healing energies will be working through your field. The one thing I am most proud of is working through my own heart space and releasing years of stored emotions that held me back. My determination to continue my journey and not give up when I wanted to allows me to understand your struggles as I have been there as well. I serve as a guide to give you the love and compassion along with a safe space to enter to receive. I will provide the space and guidance for what you are seeking but ultimately I will encourage and remind you that all you ever need is within yourself, you just might need a helping hand to remember your beauty and light. What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson I had to unlearn in growing my business was that being constantly busy does not always lead to success and happiness.

Growing up in a family business where everything in life revolved around the business was a breeding ground for being disconnected from your heart space where true happiness can be found.

Ever since I was a little girl I would spend countless hours at the family business whether that would be in the greenhouse with my Mom planting up seedlings, filling up water pics for my Aunt in the Florist or amuse myself by sitting in a market box filled with my 5lb bags of potting soil, which were my imaginary babies.

While, I was growing up we lived on the property of the business so we never got away from it. During every holiday when I was too young to work I always felt left out because everyone was much older than me and everyone was busy working. I was always looking for something to do or always asking if I could help. My O’ma would be preparing dinner for everyone so I would always visit her to see if she needed help but she always had everything already done. I realized that I quickly learned that if I wanted to fit in and feel like I belonged I had to be involved in the business, which was my family’s priority . I always remember my Dad saying Business is first, that was ingrained in my head since I was a child. I was told without the business we will have nothing over and over.

As I grew up into my teen years I was expected to work every day after school and every weekend. I will never forget this one time when all my friends were headed to Great Adventure an Amusement Park in the Spring, which was the busiest time of the year for our business and I practically begged my Father to take off that one Saturday and I was told NO!! I can still feel the hurt of not being understood and how I was trying to be part of a friend group as a young teenager. This is when my heart began to close off and shut down. In my mind I felt there was nothing I could do because I always had to work and rarely ever went out as a teenager because I had to be at work for 7:30 am and work a 10 hour shift. As I was growing up I began to have resentment, jealousy and be totally turned off to owning our own business.

Now in regards to the training at our family’s business they instilled within me a strong work ethic. Everything must be done with 100 percent effort, with a smile and done fast and no mistakes or you would hear about it. I only heard about what I did wrong, not encouraged with what I did well , so I was constantly striving not to receive the negative feedback. We were taught to always be busy, work long hours, no down time, don’t sit down during the work day and if you were talking you better be working. I quickly learned to stuff my feelings down, in order to succeed you must always be doing something, so I would suck it up and just get things done so I would hopefully earn my family’s love.

Now as I embarked on starting my own business after two years of healing the wounds hidden deep within my heart I realized how important love and compassion are for a business owner not only towards myself but others. When I started my business it was just natural for me to push the rest of my life aside and just stay focused on the task ahead. I was falling into the trap of the more I do and keep pushing myself the better off I will be in the long run. Keep working, don’t take breaks, work an 8-4 job, come home and work on my passion business till midnight and start all over again the next day. After getting totally drained and mentally burnt I realized I was falling back into the trap of pleasing people and trying to earn some type of outside recognition. That is when I realized the importance of having love and compassion for yourself as a business owner. Ultimately the energy you have will pour out onto others whether you want it to or not. It is the first thing that introduces you. It was this realization that made me want to be compassionate and loving towards myself because in turn it will naturally overflow onto others. You can not pour from an empty cup so be sure to fill your cup up first.

You may be thinking well, what does giving yourself love and compassion look like in your reality? For me, when I am frenzied, stressed or tired it’s an immediate red flag to show myself some love whether that be to go to bed a little earlier, get a massage, go for a walk in nature, enjoy a salt bath or just sit down and journal what I am feeling. It is during that time of silence that fresh new ideas can speak to you since you are making yourself available.

I realize that each one of us is connected and what I struggle with so do others in my community. Therefore, if I come across someone, whether it be a future client, coworker or someone I cross paths with during my day who might be having a rough day, I strive to show some extra compassion and love and not be too busy to listen to someone share their heart. My desire is to lead a purpose filled business with the core elements of love and compassion being my priority which will ultimately lead me to happiness.

One of my favorite online teacher’s Danielle Paige held a business class called Sovereign CEO where a fellow entrepreneur Jenni Morey started a podcast called Soul Aligned CEO. Jenni offered all her fellow entrepreneurs a chance to be a guest on her podcast. I knew nothing about being on a podcast but felt that inner pull to say yes, so I eagerly signed up!

After I signed up I started to have second thoughts and a lot of racing thoughts going through my mind because she mentioned we will be interviewed ahead of time, to see if we would be a good fit for each other. That’s when my fear started to set in and that voice in my head started saying, she doesn’t want to hear your story, you’re not good enough to be on her podcast and on and on.

The day finally came for the ZOOM meetup and I was so nervous of the outcome but I walked through the fear to find out Jenni was hoping I would sign up for her podcast. Imagine that, right there folks always observe which voice is speaking to you. If the message is fearful it’s your ego, if its filled with love and encouragement it’s your higher self.

So, we were both excited and we decided on a date that we would record the podcast. She let me know the questions ahead of time so I could mentally prepare myself to help release any nervousness. The day arrives and I feel so calm, relaxed and ready to go. That’s when the ball dropped!! Jenni says Heather can you put on some headphones because you are echoing in the recording. I was like wait, what I don’t have any headphones, my daughter took my AirPods to college and the only headphones I have need to be plugged into the computer which was across the room for my setup to do a sound bath. Anxiety started to flow through every cell in my being and I was like I can do this, take a breath. I mentioned to Jenni I will go buy headphones as I was clueless which ones to buy and where to even go to buy them. We agreed to meet up the next day to record.

I was now off to Best Buy to go buy headphones. I was so happy the salesman who helped me was a podcaster and he helped me pick out a pair of Beats headphones. When I was there he mentioned the great thing about these headphones is they will last hours on a short charge. I remember thinking oh, I don’t care about that. I headed home and was so grateful to have purchased my headphones to continue recording. I decided to give my headphones a full charge so I would be ready to go the next day.

The next day arrives and Jenni and I are ready to start recording. I shared I purchased a pair of headphones and fully charged them overnight. That’s when the second ball dropped. I tried to connect the bluetooth to my computer and I see a red light and the headphones die. I was like what the heck, how is that possible I charged them all night? How is it possible, I will tell you how, I put the cable that connects to the computer not the charger and left the headphones on overnight! I had to break the news to Jenni what happened. She was so patient with me and decided to meet up again in an hour. It was then the message from the salesman echoed within my mind, telling me the headphones will last for hours on a small charge, I was thinking thank you for that bit of information which is giving me calmness at this very moment.

OK, so now I had to figure out how to charge my headphones, yes I was that clueless!!! So, I started ripping my house apart to find a plug, after kicking my husband out of the house so I could have silence during my recording. I called him up frantically saying you need to come back and help me find a charger now!! He definitely was not too happy with me.

He helped me and I was able to charge my headphones so I could make it through the recording. One slight issue, now I was doing the recording and I was not used to talking to someone wearing headphones, I realized I couldn’t hear to well when I was talking. I remember saying to myself I made it through all these other obstacles I will make it through this one. I took a deep breath and it was a little distracting but we recorded and it was a successful episode. I truly believe my resilience is what made me work through my technical difficulties .
