We were lucky to catch up with Heather Smith recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Heather thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I became a mother in 2017 and launched my first business in 2019, I quickly learned the physical and emotional toll it takes to manage and balance both. Motherhood is such a beautiful journey filled with magical moments, long exhausting nights and countless emotions. The task list of being a mother and a business owner can be never ending.

I found myself exhausted, lonely, burnt out and overwhelmed but when I looked around in my community other women seem to be handling and managing it perfectly or at least it felt that way to me. It wasn’t till I started to sharing my feelings and struggles with other women did I realize that so many other women feel EXACTLY how I feel.

I refused to accept that this is life and how it was meant to be. There had to be a better way. I created Mompreneur Co. to design experiences that bring women and mothers together, to show them they are not alone in their feelings and to educate them on how to use systems and strategies to achieve their business dreams.

From the speakers to the activities, to the themes, the meals and every detail in between, we handpick everything for our events to show women and mothers that they deserve to be celebrated, that they can achieve their business dreams and to simply remind them how much more fun life can be when you do it together!

Since the launch of Mompreneur Co. in 2024, we’ve hosted 2 sold out summits and connected over 750 women with events and our online community. We have our next summit scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, 2025, in Purcell, Oklahoma and we plan to keep growing to impact more women and support more mothers not only in our community but in other communities as well.

Heather, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Hi, I’m Heather Smith! The proud founder of Mompreneur Co.

From a young age, I have always loved planning events, the thought of bringing people together to create lifelong memories has always brought me true joy. Throughout the years, my knowledge and expertise has grown.

I’ve created, owned, and operated 9 different companies over the last 10+ years and offered mentorship to help many other women, even outside of Oklahoma, start their own businesses, expand + scale their business and increase their revenue to achieve their income goals. I am a 2024 NextGen Under 30 Oklahoma award winner. I have been featured in Shoutout DFW Magazine, 3 other magazine articles for my passion of entrepreneurship and small businesses and 2 wedding magazines for styled wedding shoots. In 2019, I launched and created my own laundry service that now has clientele of 100+ and is still in service today in Edmond, Oklahoma.

I created my first women’s event in 2023 that was truly magical. It changed many lives and made huge impacts on the women in our community. I knew this was my calling from that day forward!

Since becoming a mother in 2017, my passion shifted to focus on creating more community among women and mothers. Motherhood is such a beautiful and wild journey. It brings precious memories, long exhausting nights, and countless emotions. It can also bring loneliness, anxious and overwhelm. Women and mothers need a village they can count on.

That’s my mission with Mompreneur Co. We hosted our very first summit in April 2024 and sold out tickets in a little over 2 weeks and had 55+ women attend, the feedback and excitement was incredible! SO many women loved this summit. Shortly after, I started planning the next one and decided to go even bigger this time, our next summit was September 2024 and we doubled our ticket sales and had 130+ women in attendance only 5 months after our first one. I was speechless and amazed.

Our next one is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th 2025 in Purcell, Oklahoma and I have no doubt it will sell out quickly and will be filled with so many incredible women and mothers who are ready to step into greatness and achieve their dreams!

But maybe you’re wondering, how Mompreneur Co. is different than the other summits and conference’s already offered?

Mompreneur Co. is for women, especially mothers who are seeking a safe community filled with women who are facing the same struggles whether that’s in their motherhood journey or their business journey. We strive to keep our tickets affordable to women on any level and though the tickets are affordable that doesn’t decrease the value or the inspiration that you walk away with at the end of the day. From the speakers, to the activities, to the sessions and the meals, every detail of our events are handpicked to benefit, inspire and celebrate the women and mothers in the room!

Our summits welcome women from all walks of life, from every background, every skill level and every industry. We believe in community over competition and know that we shine brighter when we shine together!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Be exactly who you are, be true to yourself and always be authentic.
Don’t pretend to be someone you aren’t or fit the molds of how others want you to be. Your true character will always shine. When we try to please everyone or try to be someone we aren’t we are only set ourselves up for failure and disappointment.

Pretending to be someone else will only cause the right clientele to not be able to find you.

When the right clientele finds you, they will love and value your offers, they will want to work with you and will drawn to your energy and light.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

My character has always shined through in everything I create and offer and I believe that has helped build my reputation. People often will forget what you said but they won’t forget how you made them feel so I focus on making people feel loved, valued, seen, heard and appreciated.

I love pouring back into my community and I strive to be there to listen and mentor as many people as I can while encouraging them to reach their dreams. I’ve been at the beginning stages of business ownership and motherhood, I know the challenges they are going to face on that journey and I want to help without any strings attached.

I am very accessible and always willing to give referrals, share my struggles and advice to everyone.
The world is already full of enough drama and competition, there is no need to add more. We rise and shine better together.
