We were lucky to catch up with Heather Plant recently and have shared our conversation below.
Heather, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
It actually took me a few years to come up with the name as I was searching for something that really tapped into the essence of what I do. I was searching for the perfect name and was really struggling to find it until I happened to attend my very first herbal related business course at a conference. I was sitting in class and all of a sudden the name finally came to me… Magical Plants.
Plants have always felt magical to me because of how they grow, heal, and connect us to the natural world. I wanted a name that captured not only the power of plant medicine but also the enchantment and wonder of working with the earth’s gifts. It also felt personal. My last name is Plant, and my first name, Heather, is also a plant! As an herbalist, it felt like the perfect way to create a name that not only connected to my work but also to who I am.
The name also reflects the dual nature of what I do: blending the practical science of herbalism with the intuitive, magical side of life. For me, plants aren’t just tools for physical healing; they’re allies that help us find balance, reduce stress, and infuse our lives with intention and connection. Magical Plants felt like the perfect way to encapsulate that blend of natural healing, personal connection, and magic, which are at the heart of my work and how I help my students and clients.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi! My name is Heather Plant, and I’m a clinical herbalist, wellness strategist, and the founder of Magical Plants. My journey into this field began out of necessity and passion. Growing up, I faced numerous health challenges and found little relief through conventional medicine. This led me to seek alternative methods, and I discovered the profound healing power of plant medicine. Over the years, I’ve devoted nearly two decades to studying herbalism and natural healing, combining formal training with personal experience to develop a unique approach to wellness.
At Magical Plants, my mission is to empower women to take control of their health and well-being. I offer a variety of services and products, including 1:1 wellness consultations, my 9-week natural stress management program called The Calming Toolkit, mini-courses, workshops, a magical themed membership printable tools, and even an onsite herb farm and apothecary for clients. My work focuses on helping women reduce stress and anxiety holistically, which I believe is the cornerstone of good health and a fulfilling life.
What sets me apart is the combination of practical knowledge and personal connection I bring to my work. I’ve been where many of my clients are- feeling unheard, unsupported, and overwhelmed. This firsthand understanding allows me to create a safe, judgment-free space where my clients feel seen and supported. I also incorporate an intuitive, magical element into my work, helping women connect with themselves and the natural world in ways that are deeply grounding and empowering.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how my brand blends the practical with the magical. Whether through teaching about herbal medicine, providing tools to manage stress, or helping women live more intentional lives, my goal is always to inspire a mindset shift. I don’t just offer solutions to problems; I strive to help my clients rediscover their inner power and create meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
Recently, I’ve also started helping new online business owners get their footing. I know firsthand how overwhelming starting a business can feel, and I’m passionate about supporting others as they navigate this journey as well.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s that Magical Plants is here to meet them wherever they are on their journey. Whether you’re looking for natural solutions to stress, want to learn about herbal medicine, or are ready to live a more magical and intentional life, there’s a space for you here.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Staying connected with my clients and fostering brand loyalty is something I prioritize deeply. I believe that building genuine relationships and creating a sense of community is key to a successful and meaningful business.
One way I keep in touch is through regular email communication. I send out weekly newsletters that are full of value, like tips for reducing stress, herbal recipes, and ideas for incorporating magic into everyday life. I also love to share personal stories and insights, which helps my audience feel connected to me on a more personal level. I always invite replies and conversations as I truly love to hear from my readers.
For my 1:1 clients, I ensure they feel supported not just during our sessions but between them as well. Through tools like Voxer, I’m able to offer ongoing support and guidance, making sure they know they’re never alone on their wellness journey.
What sets Magical Plants apart is how much I truly care about the success and well-being of my clients. Whether through personalized recommendations, free resources, or simply being available to answer questions, I aim to create an experience where my clients feel seen, valued, and supported. Once a client enters my world I make sure they know I will always do my best to be there for them. Some of my clients have been around for over 10 years and I truly see them as members of my family and we stay in touch several times a year. Getting to see them grow and hear about their experiences is such a gift I treasure.
My goal is to make everyone who interacts with Magical Plants feel part of a larger, meaningful journey and I try my best to let my clients know I really appreciate and value them. I’m even known for sending handwritten notes with their herbal packages or during various holidays or birthdays.
At the end of the day, brand loyalty isn’t about fancy marketing tactics, I feel it’s about building trust, delivering value, and showing up authentically. That’s the key I always try to aim for.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes, my side hustle did eventually become my full-time career, and it’s been an incredible journey. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to teach others about plant medicine and natural health. Every herbalism course I took, every book I read, and every workshop I attended was approached with that goal in mind. I wasn’t just learning for myself, I was soaking in as much knowledge as I could to help others find natural, effective ways to improve their health and well-being as well.
Before my business was even official, I started seeing clients on the side. It felt natural as once people found out what I was studying and what I could do, they would ask for consultations. Word of mouth spread quickly, and before long, I realized that this wasn’t just a side passion; it was my calling.
Eventually, I decided to go full-time in my business so I could help as many people as possible. One of the key turning points was recognizing that while I loved working 1:1 with clients, I could only see so many people in a day. Most of the clients who came to me were struggling with chronic stress, and I realized that I could have a much deeper impact by creating a program that could reach more people at once.
That’s how The Calming Toolkit was born- a 9-week program that teaches women how to manage stress and anxiety holistically. Creating the program was a labor of love, and it became a pivotal milestone in scaling my business. It allowed me to serve more people, share my knowledge in a structured and effective way, and focus on what I’m most passionate about: helping women feel empowered over their health and well-being.
Since then, my business has continued to evolve. I’ve expanded into offering even more online courses, digital tools, and memberships, and I’m now planning to bring back in-person wellness intensives to create even more connection and community. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m so grateful for how far it’s come.
