We were lucky to catch up with Heather Garrigus recently and have shared our conversation below.

Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who are motivated and driven can have a significant impact on your own growth and accomplishments. It’s true that the people we associate with often influence our energy, mindset, and even our opportunities.
An example of a successful individual who has emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people is business magnate Warren Buffett once said, “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours, and you’ll drift in that direction.” Buffett recognized the power of elevating oneself by seeking out those who have already achieved success in their respective fields.
Similarly, many successful entrepreneurs and leaders value the importance of a strong support system. They understand the impact that a supportive team can have on their growth and the overall success of their ventures.
Remember, success means different things to different people. It’s about defining what it means to you personally and taking steps to achieve it. Surrounding yourself with positive influences, motivated individuals, and a supportive team can undoubtedly contribute to your journey toward success.

I found solace and self-improvement through yoga when I started my personal journey 10 years ago. I started yoga as a way to feel better about myself. Yoga positively impacted me and led to the opening of my yoga studio in February 2021. I wanted to honor the memory of my late brother and offer the community a warm and welcoming environment of Zen.
We offer a variety of classes tailored to different individuals. There’s something for everyone.

We thrive on community outreach. Collaborating with other small businesses strengthens community connections and can lead to shared growth opportunities. Engaging in community outreach programs also allows us to give back and support local causes.
We are continuously evolving and adapting. We are always open to new class ideas and evolving with the needs of the community. This ensures that the studio stays fresh and relevant.
We have experienced yoga instructors. Experienced instructors bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and credibility to classes. Students will receive quality instruction and guidance.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Define your target audience. Understand who your content is meant for and what value you can provide to them. This will help tailor your messaging and determine which social media platforms are best suited to reach your audience.
Consistency is key. Regularly posting quality content helps to maintain engagement and attract new followers. Determine a content schedule that works for you, and strive to provide value, whether it’s through informative articles, entertaining videos, or sharing inspiring stories.
Engage with your audience and build relationships. Take the time to respond to comments, answer questions, and participate in conversations. By being accessible and responsive, you show your audience that you value their engagement and opinions.
Utilize hashtags and keywords strategically. These help to make your content more discoverable by people interested in related topics. Research relevant keywords and popular hashtags in your niche and incorporate them appropriately into your posts.
Remember, building a social media presence takes time and effort. Stay consistent, be authentic, and continuously learn and adapt based on the feedback you receive.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all strategy for growing clientele as it can vary depending on the nature of the business and the target audience.
Use digital platforms like Google Ads or social media ads to target specific demographics and locations. This can help ensure that your message reaches those who are most likely to be interested in your product or service.
Attend industry conferences or networking events to meet potential clients and build relationships with other businesses. Collaborating with complementary businesses through partnerships or cross-promotions can also help expand your reach.
Exceptional customer service: Provide a consistently excellent experience to your existing customers. Satisfied customers are more likely to become repeat customers and refer others to your business.
