We recently connected with Heather Friedman and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

Something had to change. My primary care practice was not sustaining itself– my net pay was far from enough for the year after all the overhead of business costs. After five years of trying to keep the business afloat, I realized I needed to make a big change. I needed to be independent and not just getting by.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a naturopathic physician practicing in Portland Oregon. I have a practice that focuses on Aesthetic Medicine and IV therapy with a primarily focus on aesthetic injectables. My work is rooted in supporting my clients feel their best while providing access to the many aesthetic tools that are available and proven to give results; I pride myself on natural outcomes. I am most proud of the skill for delivering consistently good results and for the business I have built based on my dedication to education, commitment to my clients, and for delivering beautiful and undetectable work.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

About 6 years ago, I started an (almost) weekly blog that I have managed to keep going as my practice has evolved. I believe that this has been the most impactful strategy for growing and maintaining my clientele. Through these blogs, I am able to establish trust and be an expert in my field. I have maintained continued communication throughout the years. These blogs also provide regular and updated content for my website and google page.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

My consistent and genuine passion for continued education has helped build my reputation. I have sought out trainings with some of the most esteemed physicians in my field around the world. Through my blogs and social media content, I am able to share these learnings with my clientele.
