Heather, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
Showing clients you value and appreciate them is vital to any business. We believe one of the best ways to show a client we appreciate them is by providing excellent communication and a wonderful client experience. Setting clear expectations, responding quickly, and keeping a clear, transparent process every step of the way. When you truly hear, understand, and value others, they feel appreciated. It’s important to us that our clients know how grateful we are for the trust they put in us and our team.

Heron Building Co is a premier fence and gate contractor based in Nashville, Tennessee, and we really focus on combining beautiful design, premium materials, and great craftsmanship. We design and build all types of wood fences, aluminum fences, estate gates, driveway gates, pool enclosures, and more. What sets us apart is our holistic approach to prioritizing aesthetics while carrying out to the highest level of craftsmanship. Our goal is to blend creativity with technical know-how, offering a fresh approach to landscape contracting and delivering projects that are modern, luxurious, and timeless. The projects we take on are custom, high-quality, and really inspired by timeless, natural design.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
This might be tough to admit, but in 2024, if you’re a small business owner with an online presence, you’re also a content creator— like it or not. So many contractors just post photos of their work and move on, but they’re missing a huge opportunity. Social media, especially Instagram, is where you can really show your brand’s personality. You can let people see behind the scenes, show the human side of your business, build trust with potential clients, establish authority in your industry, and provide social proof that your clients are happy and your work is what you say it is. You have the unique opportunity to preview the experience your potential clients will receive and invite others into community around your brand.
If you’re just starting out, my advice is fairly simple: People want to work with people. Show them who you are, what you believe in, and how you do things differently. Engage and connect. It’s difficult to convey that same level of connection solely from a website or ad collateral. Instagram is a great place to engage and build trust!

We’ve got several ways to stay connected and offer brand consistency to our clients, but honestly, the best way to build brand loyalty is by forming authentic relationships and truly caring for your clients. As the end of the day, it’s all about actively listening to what our clients want, meeting their needs, and adding real value to their lives. When you genuinely care for people, remain authentic, and exceed expectations, the brand loyalty so to speak so to speak takes care of itself.
