We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hayden Escobedo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hayden , appreciate you joining us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
How I got my first client was my uncle Roland. About two years ago when I bought a drone as just a hobby he at the time was helping to design and build houses. So he contacted me about taking pictures of the process of one of his client’s homes and it just started from there.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Hayden Escobedo and I am the founder of Cardinal Aerial Photos, LLC. My company was started back in late 2020 after the passing of my late grandma. The word “Cardinal” comes from an old tail I learned that when you see a cardinal bird nearby then that means a loved one who’s passed on is watching over you. The name and the first logo for the company were made by my uncle Roland. My company services are interior to the exterior of any type of client’s needs. In 2022 the company did jobs from exterior Christmas displays to interior drone fly-throughs to real estate construction of homes and buildings to a wedding. The jobs we’ve done are endless and it was a great experience. The problems we have solved for clients are helping them better show off their business to prospective future customers and helping family members who don’t live by seeing the progress or final product of something they are proud of. For my potential clients, I want you to know that everything we do is 100% designed to your needs. We offer competitive pricing and so much more that’ll make for an easy smooth start to a finished relationship with us. This company is here to help serve your needs and bring your imagination to life. The company has been around for two years and we continue to see growth year after year. We want to be your go-to aerial photography company and we don’t plan to go anywhere anytime soon.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The way I built my audience was simply by word of mouth and lots of sharing of my work through Facebook. My family really helped get the company off the ground by just sharing it on their personal pages and then them sharing and the list just goes on. Facebook ads and my followers on Facebook have helped out with the likes, comments, and sharing, Facebook has a way bigger impact on how I get business over Instagram. For people starting off stick to Facebook. The ads do cost but in the long run, you will get lots of looks at your business.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
The way I keep in touch with my clients is I have all their numbers saved to my phone. I build a relationship with my clients by getting to know them more. Me doing that helps me better structure my execution of how to go about providing my services to them. Everyone has a way they like things done and when you consider a client a friend and not just a customer they will be a lot easier to work for and with. Brand loyalty is all about letting them know you are still around. Texting happy holidays or sending a thank you card is what’ll help keep people loyal to your brand. Me doing that has set me up for lots of word-of-mouth referrals which I’m so thankful for. Giving business cards to your clients to pass around or being allowed to leave a yard sign in their yard is a great way for brand loyalty to stay afloat.
