We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Haydee Sanchez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Haydee below.
Haydee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How do you feel about asking friends and family to support your business? What’s appropriate, what’s not? Where do you draw the line?
When it comes to asking friends and family to support my business, I think it’s all about balance. I feel it’s appropriate to let them know about my business and what I offer, but I never want to make them feel pressured or obligated to buy something. Genuine support can come in different ways—whether that’s spreading the word, leaving a positive review, or even just encouraging me.
The line, for me, is drawn when it feels forced or transactional. I don’t want to make people feel like they owe me something because they’re close to me. I also avoid asking repeatedly if someone isn’t showing interest, because I respect their space and decision.
One time, a family member mentioned that they felt uncomfortable when another friend constantly asked them to purchase something they didn’t need, and that stuck with me. It reminded me to be mindful of others’ boundaries while still appreciating their organic support when it happens.

Haydee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Haydee Sanchez, and my boyfriend, Angel and I run a teeth whitening business from home. Interestingly, this business came to us somewhat unexpectedly, but it quickly became something we’re passionate about. We offer professional teeth whitening services, helping people feel more confident in their smiles with safe, effective treatments.
What sets us apart is our personalized, home-based approach. We ensure our clients feel comfortable in a relaxed environment, and we provide one-on-one attention that you might not find at larger clinics. We’re proud of the results we’ve been able to deliver and the positive feedback from our clients, who often comment on both the results and the personal touch we offer.
Our goal is to help people feel great about their smile, and to provide a service that’s convenient and comfortable. We love building long-lasting relationships with our clients and seeing them walk away with more confidence.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When we started our teeth whitening business, my boyfriend Angel and I took money out of our savings to get things going. We used it to buy the essentials—like the course to get certified, a chair, a ring light, the whitening gels and etc. Once we had everything set up, we started booking clients and used the money we earned from each session to reinvest in the business. We’ve been following that strategy ever since, using what we make to grow and improve.
It was definitely a leap of faith to use our savings, but we believed in what we were building. Seeing how far we’ve come has made it all worth it.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
We built our audience on social media by consistently posting every day. Showing up regularly helped us stay visible to our followers, and over time, our posts started gaining more traction. We shared behind-the-scenes moments, client results, and educational content about the teeth whitening process, which helped build trust and engagement.
For anyone just starting out, my advice is to be consistent. Even if it feels like you’re not getting a lot of attention at first, keep posting daily and engaging with your followers. Over time, you’ll build a community that’s genuinely interested in what you offer.
