Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hashi Rose. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hashi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
PT=$D stands for Positive Thinking equals Successful Days. My overall mission is to help others manifest and always looking at the other side of the story/scenarios but doing it in style. We are all aware of what PTSD is and the original meaning. I have decided to flip the script and turn it into a way different and better point of view. It has a huge impact on everyones life if we all just open our eyes and not always just see the bad and negativity in things. There is always a bigger picture to things, if you think positively on bad situations the outcome will be not be a shocker to you due to the self mental preparation. We can’t change the world if we can’t change ourselves!
Hashi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Hashi Rose, I am a 26 year old African American that is from a small city in Upstate NY. I spent all my years growing up around good and bad things even though the bad out weighs the good. I decided to separate myself from my love ones and peers by packing up and moving down south to Charlotte, NC where I currently reside. After moving in and getting settle down here, I had plenty of time on my hands to get creative. Everyone has some form a PTSD, rather if its minor to you, it can be major to the other person. I have personally suffered from PTSD, things like accidents, violence and low funds etc. I am always in good spirits with things and stand 100% strong on/behind my brand. It’s all a mind set thing. If you are willing to open you mind and take advantage of your opportunities in life, the success in your days will be endless. It all start with yourself! How do you expect your life to change if you can’t change within ?
We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
I currently have my own website that have created and designed myself. It is just the beginning and I plan on making some enhancements and upgrades to the site as time progresses. The pro on building and creating my own site is being able to have 100% total control on how everything is laid out wording, pictures and checkout wise. Some of the cons are running and scheduling discounts, promos and specials consistently on my own. The fee for my website has increased monthly.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I have unlearned waiting for the “right time” and procrastinating to do things I have to do what I have to do to reach my goals and dreams. There is no reason to prolong things or waiting for the “right moment”. I am at the point in life where I don’t wait anymore, everyday is the right day. I never want to miss out on opportunities due to me wanting to wait for the right time. I actually sold my car after I moved to NC and used all the money I got to start my first batch of apparel. I had to sacrifice things to level up.
