We were lucky to catch up with Hasanna Limehouse recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Hasanna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
What I think it takes to be successful is to have faith and being determined. You have to have faith in yourself and your business. Being strong minded is very important because you’re going to run into tough decisions. Sometimes you’ll run into challenges that you never faced before but you have to have faith in yourself that no matter what you face, everything will work out for the best. Being determined and knowing where you want your business to go will motivate you to work extra hard. As a business owner you have to understand that nothing will come easy. Nothing will be handed to you; you have to go out and get what you want in order for your business to be where it needs to be. It’s going to be a lot of late nights and early mornings, but it’ll all pay off in the end. Regardless of how people may feel about your ideas, about you or your brand, have faith that you know your business is going to be successful because your business is a representation of you. Always keep in mind that you didn’t work this hard for nothing.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Hasanna Limehouse and I am a 24-year-old entrepreneur. My business name is Sanna’s Creations and I’ve had my business since 2016. Sanna’s Creations came about a month after I came home from basic training in 2016. When I got back home, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next. So, one day I was scrolling on social media, and I saw people who made custom t-shirts and I wanted to give it a try. I bought all the materials needed and after making my first baby onesie, I knew it was something I wanted to continue because it became my peace and made me happy. I offer everything custom from t-shirts, party favors and invitations to custom props for photoshoots and birthday parties/events. When it comes to solving problems for my customer, I like to make sure we both have an understanding of the issue. I never want my customers and I to be on different pages. Once we are on the same page, we take the next steps to fix the issue. I also have policies in place so that customers know beforehand what is expected. I am most proud of how far I have come. I’m also proud of not hiding my potential and taking that leap of faith, stepping out of my box to show my creativeness. I would like my current and potential clients to know that my main mission is to make sure their visions come to life and that they are happy.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been Facebook and word of mouth. Facebook helped me show everyone what I’m capable of. It also helped show clients that my creativity is unlimited. Whenever someone wants a custom item that they saw I previously did but want something different added to it, I make it happen. Word of mouth has helped my business a lot as well because my support system is amazing. They are always quick to recommend customers to me. They are always happy to show others my work. When others see my work at an event, on someone’s t-shirt or just a picture of it, I always receive great feedback. I always tell people it’s okay to support me by just giving feedback because great feedback can attract potential customers.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What I think helped me build my reputation is having a great first impression with my customers and other people that’s in the industry. Regardless of if someone buys something from you once or 15 times, I always believe having a great first impression is everything. It shows that your respectful and you mean business. I helped customers know that you’re interested and want to service them. In person or through the internet you want to always stay professional. Also knowing how to communicate with your customers is important. You want them to know that if there was a mistake your able to tell them, so they’ll know what’s going on just in case there’s a delay with your items.
