We were lucky to catch up with Haruka Hayashi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Haruka, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
In 2019, I remember sitting in the microblading appointment, anxious yet excited. When I looked in the mirror after the procedure, I was overwhelmed with joy—it felt truly life-changing. That was the moment I realized I wanted to learn permanent makeup and share that same happiness with others. Yet, the fear of starting something completely new held me back. Then, the pandemic hit, shaking up everyone’s lives, including mine. Suddenly, I found myself with more time to ponder my passions and pursuits. That unexpected pause gave me the courage to finally dive headfirst into this creative journey. And here I am today, following my dream of making people feel beautiful and confident!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a Japanese permanent makeup artist with a passion for enhancing natural beauty through the precision of my culture. I specialize in ombre powder brows, nano brows, lip blush, and saline removal.
My journey began with a love for detail and precision, leading me to create natural, stunning results for my clients. My services include creating soft, full brows, defining lips with a blush of color, and safely removing unwanted makeup.
What makes me unique is my dedication to natural results and the meticulous artistry influenced by my Japanese heritage. I’m proud to restore confidence and bring out the beauty in each client, ensuring safe practices and high-quality results.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a permanent makeup artist is seeing the boost in confidence that clients experience. Enhancing someone’s natural beauty and making them feel more comfortable in their own skin is incredibly fulfilling. It’s gratifying to know that my skills can positively impact someone’s daily life and self-esteem. Additionally, I get to meet people from all kinds of backgrounds and professions, which makes the job even more interesting and enriching.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My life has transformed since I started my own business, allowing me to set my own schedule and achieve independence. My goal is to support and help those who want to change their lifestyle by teaching the art of permanent makeup. I am committed to continually learning new techniques and staying humble throughout my journey.
