We were lucky to catch up with Harry Lopez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Harry, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents are fiercely determined and resilient. They taught me persistence and the real value of integrity from an early age. My dad embodies masculine leadership in his way of being. He serves his clients, gets up early and goes to work and leads others, and comes home to be with family. Both my parents are led and guided by faith – relying on God for all things – worshipping God in all ways – and trusting in divine guidance and protection. This has been passed down to me and the important role that God plays in my life and how I choose to lead in my business and in my relationships. My mother is a leader in the catholic church and I love that I have seen her spiritual curriculum continue to deepen as I’ve gotten older. I see her in deep prayer using the rosary and leading small women’s circles at her church.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hola! My name is Harry López (@theharrylopez) and I’m a high performance coach in life and leadership for highly ambitious Latinos from all parts of the globe who are seeking to access their power, step into unreasonable confidence, and launch themselves and their movements out into the world. While I was born and raised in Miami, my parents are from Managua, Nicaragua and immigrated to the United States in the late 1980’s during the Sandinista Revolution of Nicaragua.
I’m the proud Founder of @LaunchLatinx (www.launchlatinx.co) – a transformational coaching container and resilient community of Latinos seeking transformation and support together. We offer masterminds, online courses, private coaching, live events, mentorship, accountability, rigor, and business support.
Much of my personal “why” for doing the work that I do is the pursuit of human potential and the eradication of human suffering.
My experience growing up a queer first generation immigrant kid in constant fear and hiding and thinking that it was better for me to “play small” and not take up “too much space” has resulted in me always second guessing myself and questioning my worth.
The work of coaching and transformation has supported me in questioning all beliefs and stories of limitation and taking back my worth and power and knowing with unshakable resolve that I am capable and worthy of anything I want in this life.
My mission is to contribute meaningfully to elevating human potential and wealth generation for Latinos in the globe. For Latinos to get out of hiding and own their worth and create their lasting impact and legacy in the world.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I have read many books on this entrepreneur journey, but few have had the impact on me that the work of Byron Katie has had on me. Byron Katie’s, “The Work,” is a powerful self-inquiry method that helps individuals challenge and transform their stressful thoughts and beliefs. It consists of a series of questions that guide people in examining their thoughts, understanding the impact of those thoughts on their emotions and actions, and ultimately finding more peace and clarity in their lives. By identifying and questioning their core beliefs, individuals can often free themselves from unnecessary suffering and experience a profound shift in perspective.
Byron Kathleen Mitchell, known as Byron Katie, was born on December 6, 1942, in Breckenridge, Texas, USA. She had a life-changing awakening in 1986, which led her to develop “The Work” as a method for personal transformation and self-inquiry. Katie’s own journey from deep depression and anxiety to a state of profound inner peace and happiness inspired her to share her insights with others.
Over the years, Byron Katie has authored several books, including “Loving What Is” and “A Thousand Names for Joy,” and has conducted workshops and seminars worldwide to teach “The Work.” Her work has gained recognition and acclaim in the fields of self-help, personal development, and spirituality. Byron Katie continues to share her wisdom and guidance with individuals seeking greater clarity, peace, and freedom in their lives through her teachings and resources.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I believe as a coach, the most essential work you can do is to continue dropping patterns that no longer serve you, and unlearn everything you thought you were “supposed” to be in order to come into the purity of love that you were always from the start – the infinity of you. Your clients/patients/students don’t need you to be perfect, but they will be mirrors for you and you can only take them as far as you have been willing to go within yourself.
