Hi Harry, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
When I was in college back in Colombia ( I studied physical therapy) I used to make jewelry as a hobby. I was 17 years old. I started to sell my jewelry all over my home town in different boutiques and stores. I was very excited that my hobby was helping me to make money. I graduated from physical therapy school and I never worked as a PT. I made the decision to be focused on my jewelry line. It is my passion and after more than 20 years, it is still what I love to do the most. I love to design jewelry and still having fun. I moved to NYC 11/11/11 looking for more opportunities and in 2018 I started working for Diane Von Furstenberg. In 2020 Diane allowed me to display my jewelry line at her flagship store in Meatpacking, NY. I had my jewelry at her store until 2024. Since 2024 I am 100% independent and focused on my company Harry Berry NY inc.

I am an immigrant. I came to New York 14 years ago. I left my family, business, clients and everything behind. I really wanted more. Having a business in Colombia was very demanding and I was very young. I landed in America back in 2011, with my luggage full of dreams. I started from zero. My English was very basic , I worked for different companies; I worked as a waiter, bartender, I worked in retail etc. but always believed in myself, my jewelry line and passion. I never stopped designing jewelry. I started to meet people and clients. I have enjoyed every single moment of this process. I had the opportunity to work with an icon in fashion (Diane Von Furstenberg).She became my mentor, she loves my jewelry and she allowed me to show and selling my jewelry line at her flagship store for 4 years. Now I am an American citizen, Harry Berry is a trade mark, and Harry Berry NY inc has been a company since 2021. Harry Berry has been a sponsor for NYFW by F/ROW in 2024 and 2025.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the love for what I do. Loving what I do is the most important part of this journey. Seeing how the Harry Berry community is growing everyday. Making happy my clients is amazing, they love my pieces , my pieces are timeless. I still have clients from Colombia that send me photos of their jewelry from the 2000’s. I feel very blessed for being a craftsman. Love all the process about creating jewelry and selling it. My company pay my bills and gives me the opportunity to travel around the world.
