We were lucky to catch up with Harmony recently and have shared our conversation below.
Harmony, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Of course and thank you for your interest in what I do!
I think I’ve known since I got here that this was the only path for me, personally and professionally. I’ve certainly experienced my share of misalignment, for various reasons, throughout my life but being able to do what I do has never been far from my heart. Figuring out ‘how’ to be who I am in the world that I arrived into, and travelled through, has been the adventure of my life.
As a kid, I was surrounded by a unique understanding of the supernatural and an extraordinary relationship to creativity and art. My very early life was a wonderland. My mother was an artist also and painted all the walls in our home with life-sized fairy godmothers, prince charmings, magic wands, animals and objects that seem to come to life to help humans, well, love more. I was constantly wrapped in stories from my father about time travel, faerie realms, other worlds and dimensions, magic, and a real and valuable understanding (for better or worse) that what was actually happening was always more complex than what appeared to be happening. I seemed to sense early that I knew or could see things others wouldn’t.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an intuitive reader/guide, storyteller, and artist. I’ve been reading cards and energy and doing overall supernatural things for over 30 yrs. I’m a master level Reiki practitioner in two disciplines. My university degree is in storytelling and probably the longest standing commitment in my life is with art and creativity. Sessions with me incorporate all of these elements and range in depth based on inquiry from simple card readings to more lengthy and intensive, alchemical guidance. (My artwork reflects a similar depth flexibility.)
Having successfully navigated an internal world and sense of self that was not supported or acknowledged by external things/people/professions, I’m in a good position now to show a cleared path, in many different lanes, for people coming through. I’ve been able to harmonize, experience, and cultivate the mystic and the creative in a lucrative and fulfilling way that allows me to expand into this realization more and more everyday.
A Luminous Heart was created and exists as a home for authenticity, sovereignty, and as a love and service to helping others discover and recover themselves.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Yes, well, I’m not sure it’s accurate to label any human as ‘non-creative’ but that’s likely also a result of my being a creative. It’s a more non-linear path and isn’t tethered in the same way to tangibles that other things here are.
For example, the way that matter and energy exist. At first as separate things…until you see that even matter is just very dense energy. That’s what a creative life is like – living in the realization that everything is energy and nothing is separate.
Maybe this seems complex and lol a little annoying, depending on where you are, but leaving a little room for possibility and suspending disbelief, even for a split second, is essentially ‘being creative’.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
There are a few things I’ve had to and continue to unlearn:
1- Someone else knows the ‘right’ way to do it
2- I need anyone’s permit to do it the way I do it
3- I have to figure it all out and/or make it ‘just so’ before I begin
These each have their own back story but overall, these are the tenets to overturn each time I stumble into a new lane worth exploring.
