We recently connected with Harmonique and have shared our conversation below.
Harmonique, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
(Harmonique is a singing duo with members Tatiana and Gabby. Each member answered this question below.)
Tatiana: I started singing when I was in the second grade in my church choir. From then till now, I have continued to sing and there has never been a point in my life where I haven’t been singing, whether it was in a choir, private voice lessons, or singing groups. I love to perform and have always wanted to be in a girl group after having been inspired by famous girl groups like the Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, and Little Mix. Girl groups made me want to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally. When I was in elementary school, myself, my sister and three of my friends practiced to enter a talent show at our school where we would perform “Spice Up Your Life” by the Spice Girls. I guess that was the first girl group I ever joined! Ever since then, I have always wanted to be in a girl group and perform professionally. I like how girl groups combine unity, vocal harmony, and choreography to deliver great performances. I am so glad that I am in Harmonique where we can focus on these things and bring cohesive performances to the audience.
Gabby: I’ve been drawn to a creative path for as long as I can remember. I’ve been singing my whole life, growing up in a musical family where music was always present and encouraged. In high school, I was a second soprano in chorus, which helped me start taking my voice more seriously and gave me a sense of belonging in a creative space. In my early twenties, I pushed myself even further by auditioning for shows like The Voice and America’s Got Talent. Those experiences, while nerve-wracking, confirmed that performing wasn’t just something I loved, it was something I wanted to pursue professionally.
That journey hasn’t always been easy. Anxiety has definitely made it difficult at times to put myself out there, especially in high-pressure audition settings or live performances. But my love for the craft has always been stronger than that fear. Over time, it’s helped me build confidence and continue seeking out opportunities to perform. I’m currently involved in musical theatre, which has been incredibly fulfilling and has allowed me to grow both as a performer and as a person.
More recently, I joined Harmonique because it felt like the perfect opportunity to keep growing. It gives me the chance to sing amazing songs while also gaining more experience and confidence performing with someone else. Being part of a smaller group setting has helped me refine my skills, connect more deeply with the music, and continue building toward a long-term career in the arts.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Harmonique is a central Florida-based female singing duo that performs covers of popular songs. Harmonique is a fairly new duo because we formed about a year ago. Tatiana is the leader and founder of Harmonique. Tatiana connected with Gabby through a musical theater Facebook group in March 2025. We met up in a dance studio in Orlando on April 12, 2025, harmonized to “When the Party’s Over” by Billie Eilish, and Harmonique was formed! We are a different kind of singing group in that we can perform styles across multiple genres of music to include pop and R&B as well as rock and some country. We are both millennials so we have fun adding in some throwback songs into our sets. We recently added “Sk8er Boi” by Avril Lavigne to our set list and performing that song was very fun and very nostalgic! We also really want the duo to reflect females in a positive light and be positive role models for females in the community.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
With each performance that we do, we strive to be better than the previous performance. With our name being Harmonique, we want to focus on having great vocal harmony! Singing with only one other person can be very exposing, so we are attentive to our vocal blend and making sure our harmonies are locked in during rehearsals. During our performances, we like to perform a portion of a few songs a cappella so the audience can really hear the harmonies.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Honing our craft and being able to perform on a regular basis. It is so rewarding to get positive responses from the audience when we’re performing. At a recent gig, a more established, professional singing group that has been around for more than 15 years and been on shows such as America’s Got Talent heard us performing our cover of “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston and gave us really positive feedback on our vocals. When the audience resonates with us, it really makes all the hard work that we put into this worth it!
