We recently connected with Harmoniah Carter and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Harmoniah , thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
I booked my first major gig with Forbes and Grads of Life. It was truly a blessing financially and, overall, contributed to my career growth in entertainment. I didn’t take the opportunity lightly. This was a huge gig for me to be representing myself alongside such a global, established brand. I accomplished this before the age of 25. I remember looking into the sky, thanking God, and at that point telling myself the sky had no limits for me. Anything I set my mind to, as long as I work hard and believe I can achieve it. That is now always what I continue to repeat in my mind, even when I stumble across obstacles. To this day, I currently have a profile and published article on Forbes.com. My next goal with the corporation is to make the “30 under 30” list. I look forward to making my dreams and goals come true someday soon.

Harmoniah , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Harmoniah. I wear many hats in the entertainment industry. I am a composer, producer, actress, director, published model, and CEO of Harmless Entertainment. Originally born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve been acting on stage and in theaters since elementary school. The love and enjoyment I feel showcasing my musical talents in the rock genre is very fulfilling. For the past decade, my career fields and background have been in corporate financial services and information technology. Over the past 2 years, I’ve transitioned full-time into the entertainment business. I honor daily fearlessness, self-confidence, and creativity. My recent career highlights include my first music single going viral on TikTok, becoming a member of the Voyage ATL content partnership program, graduating from the Korn Ferry program, earning a Leadership U for Humanity certification, releasing my first music video executive produced and directed by me, and finally, being named PUMP International Magazine’s Best in Beauty 2022. What makes me different is that I work hard in front of the camera and behind the scenes to accomplish great things as well. One of my proudest moments thus far is being the founder and CEO of Harmless Entertainment. My company allows creatives to be their authentic selves. We offer a broad range of services involving the entertainment business. Which includes but is not limited to short film script supervision, instructional videos, ghost-writing, commercial advertisements, music videos, television programs (series or single episodes), song copyright registration, live performances, graphic and web design, music marketing, voice-over, audio engineering, content creation, and more. When reading my story and looking at me, I want everyone to remember this: “Stay true to yourself in all things you do.” Greetings reader, loved ones, and fan support please tune into my newly released music video on Youtube https://youtu.be/_NlDHRQ3eI4

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Sure. So the brief story I’m going to share is actually very dear to me because I haven’t really opened up publicly since it happened. I was in a major motorcycle accident in 2019. The wreck changed my entire life. My new norm was overall different. I really had to dig deep and try to take a positive perspective on every situation I faced. Although this had been the most challenging time of my life, I took it as a learning opportunity every step of the way toward healing and becoming a better me. Focusing on the things I could control instead of dwelling on what I could not change became a major part of my mindset. No matter how tough things got as I found myself all over again, I never gave up. I continue to set goals and put them into action to see a successful outcome, no matter how small or big. Over time, I’ve found my roots in being a creative at heart and with naturally gifted talents. I also began learning new skill sets and ways to bring in revenue for myself, such as e-commerce marketing, stocks, online sales, and overall brand ownership.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
There are many ways you can support creatives. Sometimes, it doesn’t require financial support. The little things truly go a long way. Support someone you like or even love by sharing a post of their work on social media, watching the full episodes or videos for those independents still striving to produce great content, attending live performances, streaming, and downloading projects directly from the source site. Lastly, leaving constructive feedback can be a great contribution. Your voice matters as well, so make it count.
