Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Harding Junior Edme Belneau. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Harding Junior thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your creative career?
The tougher lesson I’ve learned in my career is working for having fame or hoping that a project will make me famous. I’ve learned in the hard way to release myself from those ideas. Now, any project I work for, I am looking to enjoy, have fun, and be present all the time so I can connect with my colleagues and the crew. That way has given me a lot of peace and joy. And, of course, it has helped me to upgrade my performances
Harding Junior, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born in Haiti and moved to Mexico at 5 years old. I got my first job when I was 9. It was a theater performance. My parents took me to the craft, no to hoping for me to be a professional actor but to have a hobby and get rid of my shyness, because I was a very shy boy. I’m still very shy, but I can hide it very well now.
The path of my career has been very hard. Full of rejections, disappointment ls and false illusions. But now I see that all of that wasn’t anything but challenges. A hard training so I can be the best version of myself
I’ve learned that my worst enemy can be myself. By not believing in my and let others crash my dreams and confidence.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I want to produce a project that represents the history of black people in Mexico.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
“No pain, no gain.” I had to unlearn that. I believe that we can have success without passing through the way of pain and suffering. The path of love is accessible for everyone too. But unfortunately, just a few know it.
