We recently connected with Happe Schuster and have shared our conversation below.
Happe , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
In my humble opinion, I would like to be a makeup artist as a regular job! For reasons it is lot more fun, more excitement, you can meet different people/clients, and you can have new friends.

Happe , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started in my home country of the Philippines. I was interested and applied as a makeup artist which I was worried and scared at 1st because I did know how to do makeup by myself but not to others. Short story, I tried and yes I got the job as a makeup artist and I learned a lot because of the training on how to do the right application. My confidence in myself became better and better. A year later I’m glad to say I’ll became a head in-house makeup artist.
Through my experience I have enjoyed trying new styles/trends and multiple looks for the personality of my clients. With this experience I offer weddings, Proms, Photoshoot, and any event.
Going into each session I have my own strategy dealing with the Client with communication, coordinating time, schedules, and follow ups. Once we meet I talk to Client on what looks they want to achieve. With my upbeat personality we achieve a common goal!
I enjoy most when the client smiles and gives me a positive feedback while endorsing my services to friends and family.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Learning and developing my craft with multiple people. I enjoy the perspective of my clients and ideas what they’re ant to achieve
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
It’s a big transition for me to move from the Philippines to United States. My experience is to become more excellent and I wanna continue my mission with vision of expanding my business of MAKEUP BY HAPPE throughout the state of Minnesota, I also want to show my creativity and dreaming of starting a small restaurant in the near future.
