We were lucky to catch up with Hannah Wilhoite recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hannah , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first knew I wanted to pursue acting and modeling when I did the Arizona foothills magazine competition. I went on stage, heard the applause, and immediately knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Hannah Wilhoite, I am 15 years old and I live outside of Phoenix, AZ. I had never thought about being an actress or model, until I was nine years old, and my mom entered me into a modeling contest with Arizona Foothills Magazine. I placed in the top ten. It was my first experience with modeling, and I loved it. Soon after I auditioned for Fashion Show hosted by The Young Agency. I was selected and was signed with The Young Agency for modeling. The first few years after being signed with TYA,I told my mom that I wanted to start Acting. She signed me up for acting classes with Actress Deborah Lemen out of LA. I continued walking the runway in Fashion Shows for TYA as well as taking modeling classes with Erika Mash, owner of More Than Modeling and Caring For The Earth Dress Rentals.
A year ago I was cast in a Documentary called Models on the Move, Journey to Teen Fashion Week, produced by James Bessinas and Pam Young with TYA. Since then I’ve worked as an extra in several movies. I have worked on two other projects with Director/ Producer James Benninas, and am currently working on a movie being filmed here in Arizona called Lady Doctor.
One main problem that I seem to keeping running into is finding an agent/manager in LA. I keep being told that, “we already represent other clients with my looks.” Which gets frustrating, but I’m very persistent and keep submitting!
I have taken classical Piano for the past five years from Pianist Lillian Coulter. I have found that piano lessons have taught me not only discipline but memorizing piano pieces has helped me when it comes to memorizing sides for auditions and projects that I’ve been cast in.
What I’m most proud of is that I am a role model to my peers.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The first time I ever filmed on set was in the middle of summer, and we were inside of a church that had no AC. It was a scene for a spelling bee and I was an extra standing off to the side and my sister was up there with me. I started not feeling too well and reached over to my sister to try and tell her I wasn’t feeling well and next thing I know I was falling. I got dragged out to the hallway to cool down and get some water, in the end I was fine. That was in 2018 and now, in 2023 I am still acting and modeling, looking back, that experience just made me realize my resilience, and dedication to acting.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me the most rewarding thing about being a creative person is the results of the project, the work I put into what I do, the community and being able to contribute to the arts!
