We recently connected with Hannah Weber and have shared our conversation below.
Hannah , appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The very first time I realized that I loved working with metals was when I was in my first year or two of college. I had signed up for a class that was described as “sculpture” but ended up being a bronze casting class. In this class I kept making Ouija boards or planchettes made of metal ( I am an ex goth teenage after all ), and I kept coming back to wanting to name by future business Goodbye and Goodluck, like from a Ouija board.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As I mentioned, I went to college and I earned a BFA with my concentration in metalsmithing. I graduated in 2016 and have been making jewelry consistently since. I originally made a lot of silver and turquoise jewelry, but after I was hired and worked as a bench jeweler for a local company, started working more in gold. I love working in gold because of it’s inherent value and preciousness, and I love making heirloom pieces.
My business is unique because I do a lot of lapidary in my work, which is the act of cutting and polishing stones. This allows me to buy rough slabs of rock from small miners, and I can process and manipulate the stone in my own studio.
I am a small jeweler who focuses on unisex and sturdy pieces for anyone. It is important to me that any person feels comfortable and confident in my jewelry and I aim to have a personal experience with my clients, as I feel it is special that from start to finish I am working on their project.
I am proud that in my first “official” year of business, supporting my own self since early 2024, that my business is profitable and successful. I am excited to grow and learn and can’t wait to see what 2025 brings me!

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Like I have touched on, I am big on having friendly relationships with my clients. It is not lost on me how special it is that someone wants to spend their money with me, and I have many repeat clients. I like to show behind the scenes clips of their pieces, and sometimes over explain small details. I think it’s special that they can see my hands, with the cuts and scrapes, and each step of the way when I made their special piece.
I received a message once from a potential client I was chatting with, and they mentioned how pleased they were that I was able to answer pricing questions and that they didn’t feel the pressure to buy from me. I was so complimented, because in this era especially, I know that it is special that people are saving up for my pieces, and I am SO TOUCHED every time I see someones wish board for purchases. The best thing ever is when I see people sketch my jewelry in their journals!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Definitely word of mouth! I am so grateful for my social media community! I am so lucky to have them!
I also think that the fact that I post sooooo many behind the scenes clips of my creating process seems to really interest people. Inlay really isn’t super common, and it is special that I do my own inlay in my studio and don’t outsource this process.
