We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hannah Staib. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hannah below.
Hannah , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Since starting Indulge In Art, I have been blessed with a multitude of opportunities. I am very lucky to say that I am a proud vendor at the Charleston City Market and have done multiple pop ups and markets in the surrounding areas in Charleston. Since then I have met so many incredible vendors which have turned into friendships that I cherish this day. I found that there were so many small businesses that emerged out of covid ( Indulge being one of them), but not enough markets out there for businesses to get their foot in the door. That is when I decided to create my own market….the Radcliffe Market. I opened up my backyard, patio, art studio, etc for about a half dozen vendors to come in and show their stuff! The outcome was more than we expected, so many vendors had their first market there, and their gratitude for this particular market was outstanding. My goal is to keep this little market going for as long as I can so I can provide the opportunity to vendors to build their business the way I did, through the community.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My business is all epoxy resin ocean inspired artwork. I got into the business in the midst of covid. I was actually back in my hometown Long Island NY working as a preschool teacher when I began experimenting with resin. I took over my dad’s basement tool bench which was about half the size of a ping pong table. I didn’t really know where I was going to go with the business I just knew I wanted to test my artistic abilities with a new medium. Once I nailed down the process ( after lots of trial and error) I started selling at local markets on Long Island. When I heard that the Charleston City Market was opening up applications again I told myself that if I got in there I would move back to Charleston and pursue my dream to become a full-time artist- and I did exactly that. Haven’t looked back since.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media is key in todays world when starting a business. I studied Arts Management and Marketing, I really feel that the marketing education I gained helped my business greatly. Internships and running other businesses social media platforms also helped me gain the tools I use today with Indulge In Art. I think that its important to keep up with the “trends” but to also be yourself on social media. At the end of the day people want to buy the brand, your story, YOU, and of course your product, but adding that piece of connection to the customer really helps in the long run.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I really like the podcast “ How I built this with Guy Raz”
