We recently connected with Hannah Jefferson and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Hannah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
While this is not a story specific to one particular client, it is one that has created deep impact on the lives of many. I give this advice to almost every patient I see in some capacity, and the ones who take it and run with it are those that see the most magnificent change over time. The advice is this–our bodies have a unique wisdom to them, and when we tune into them and practice preventative health on a regular basis, we are setting ourselves up for massive shifts and success in the long term.
So often in our society we are conditioned to seek out support from the healthcare system when things have gone “wrong” and we need a cure or solution. When we do this, however, we are always behind the ball instead of improving our health and getting ahead of it. Although the before and afters in preventative health sessions are less dramatic then, say, curing a headache within the span of a session, it is the longevity of health that we can look back on and see the drastic difference over time. To me, and to those who have taken this advice, this is far more valuable than any quick fix. Serious illness builds up over the course of time, and it is far easier to treat and prevent things in their early stages than to wait to tackle it once it has become serious or life threatening.

Hannah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am an acupuncturist, intuitive guide, and coach who utilizes several modalities in the holistic world to help clients reconnect with their bodies, release old patterns and habits, and discover deep peace and healing in their day to day lives. With the combination of my background in acupuncture, energy healing, coaching, psychology, and personal trauma recovery background, I partner with my clients to help them heal on a mind, body, and spirit level.
I got into this industry because, like many, I started as a patient–I was looking for anxiety relief and support in processing childhood abuse, and when I found acupuncture and energy medicine I found it to be more beneficial and transformative than anything else I had tried thus far. After receiving such deep healing, I wanted nothing more than to be able to provide that same sort of experience for others.
I am most proud of my intuition and ability to hold deep and sacred space for patients during the happiest to the most challenging moments of their lives. While I am certainly a skilled practitioner who is always learning and advancing my abilities technically, my essence and empathic nature are what sets me apart from the crowd. I look at every person as individual and am devoted to partnering with them along their healing journeys–helping them to see their own unique light and potential.
My brand is one of deep empowerment, self love, and holistic preventative health. I seek to educate, inspire, and empower so that people can take their healing into their own hands and create whatever sort of life they want. I do this in the treatment room, online, and on my wellness podcast (The Practically Well Podcast).

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I was six years old I was sexually abused by my babysitter. It was an incredibly traumatic experience, and was one that has taken many years of exploration to process, move through, and heal from. Even as a young child, however, I was brave enough to share what had happened fairly soon after it occurred, and came back to the scenario again and again over the years to continue to work on my healing around it (knowing that healing is not linear and has many layers).
After doing my own inner healing around this event, I felt incredibly called to share my story with others and be publicly vulnerable in a way that I never had before. I spoke on my podcast and several others about my story and how it led me to find holistic healing and my current career, and it was incredibly empowering! It is a goal of mine to do more work with women who have been through various kinds of abuse and support them on their own healing journeys.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
For me, organic face to face networking with potential clients and referral partners has been the most effective strategy for growing clientele. The way I see it, there are skilled practitioners everywhere–but the thing that sets one person apart from another is their essence, their passion and what makes them unique as a practitioner. Being able to have a conversation with someone, get to know what their concerns are, and have a mini intake of sorts to me is far more effective than generalized posting online.
