Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hannah Gibson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Hannah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I was raised to not be wasteful and I love glass. So, I would find broken glass when I’d go hiking or even just walking on a sidewalk. I’d always pick it up and save it in hopes of finding something cool to do with it. Well, I finally learned how to glue glass together and I made an art piece of a landscape with trees and a sky out of broken glass that I had found. I loved it so much that I started making more. And later on I ate this yogurt that came in a glass jar and I felt too wasteful throwing it away. I decided to save the jars and use them to make candles! Eventually, I decided to start selling things and my mom loves crafts to so we came up with our brand that everything had to be repurposed in one way or another. It has been so much fun coming up with ideas and finding new ways to save the earth a little bit at the time. We felt that 2nd Corinthians 5:17 fit our brand perfectly.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We sell a variety of things but everything is repurposed and helps you keep the planet a little bit cleaner. A lot of places don’t recycle glass and although glass is a more natural product than others, it is unknown how long exactly it takes to decompose. That is why we save glass jars and broken glass that we find laying around. We make candles in the jars to give them another life and we turn the broken glass into art via resin coasters. We also save the landfills from a lot of plastic waste. We turn feed sacks into tote bags! These bags are extemely durable because the plastic was made to hold 25-40lbs of feed. My mom(the mastermind behind these) knows exactly how to clean them and sew them to make them not only strong but super cute. Most of them have cute animals on the print like chickens, horses, dogs, and even catfish. These are our best sellers.
Theres a lot of other products that we sell from eggshell fertilizer to help your plants grow to crocheted washcloths to promote susatainable living and getting rid of plastic loofas and all their bacteria they hold on to.
All in all, no matter what type of stuff you’re into, we have a product that you can use and be proud of.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Simply going to craft shows and events. People can’t learn about you if you’re not out there. Etsy has been great for certain things but I’ve learned that most products people want to see and feel. You can only get that by actually physically being somewhere. It also helps that we have free tastings for our homemade jelly. Nothing quite like sweet food to make people want to spend money!

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Books really helped me feel like I could start a business in the first place. It was daunting at first but then I read “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki and he really put things into perspective. I’d recommend that book first. Then I’d recommend reading “The Psychology of Money” by Morgan Housel. It really talks about finding what works best for you and your goals. There are plently of finace books out there with advice but every one is different has different lifestyles and goals. You gotta find what works best for YOU! I really liked how that book explained things. Lastly, I’d recommend studying just a general ecomonics. Theres a book “Economics 101” by Alfred Mill that puts things as simply as possible and just gives facts, not opinions. It helped me but you can always just youtube economics.
