We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hannah Dimock a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hannah , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

From a young age, I knew I aspired to own my own business. I have always had a passion for helping others and bringing creativity to every project I take on. My journey, from serving restaurants to bartending, has shaped the business owner I am today. Hospitality is my passion, and I’m equally dedicated to crafting delicious, fresh drinks. I love creating unique, personalized experiences for each client. When I launched my mobile bar business in early 2024, I knew there was no turning back. I’m fully committed to this exciting venture.

Hannah , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

After years of working in the service industry, I discovered this amazing group of entrepreneurs. “Starting & Running your Mobile Bar Business”. If it weren’t for them, I never would have had the courage to take the leap and start my own business. While my experience in the service industry was valuable, I had no idea where to begin when it came to starting or owning a business. Building a business while working full-time is no easy feat, but the support from my friends and family gave me the confidence to know I was making the right decision. I’m so glad I didn’t give up, because I wouldn’t be where I am today. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of our clients’ milestones and to serve them delicious craft cocktails.

To keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty, we focus on personalized service and consistent communication. Always follow up with thank-you notes and surveys for feedback. Engage with clients on social media by showcasing events, running raffles, and sharing behind-the-scenes content. Offer loyalty programs, such as discounts or referral bonuses, and send exclusive email offers to encourage repeat business. Create a memorable experience with custom cocktails and excellent service. Building strong relationships with event planners and maintaining a strong online presence will help you stay top-of-mind and secure future bookings. At the start of this adventure, we emailed every venue within a 30-mile radius to introduce ourselves and get our name out there. There are truly so many ways we keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The most effective strategy for growing clientele in a mobile bar business is a combination of word-of-mouth referrals and strategic partnerships. Offering exceptional service at every event ensures clients are happy and more likely to recommend your business. Building relationships with event planners, wedding coordinators, and local venues helps secure repeat business and referrals. Additionally, having a strong social media presence—posting engaging content like event highlights, unique cocktails, and client testimonials—can attract new clients. Offering special promotions or discounts for first-time bookings and referral bonuses further helps expand your reach. At the start, we even invested in Facebook and Instagram ads to help grow our clientele.
