We were lucky to catch up with Hanna Grove recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hanna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
I met my Hero my Sophomore year of High school. Ms. Aubri Moore popped her head into our yearbook room and expressed that she was so excited to be joining us for the next year. A couple months later she had a grand mal seizure in her classroom. Fast forward to August before my Junior year of high school. It’s the Jostens yearbook summer workshop you go in you pick your yearbook page layouts, the covers, everything. We all were drawn to Moore. I spent the next three months coming to school early standing by her classroom door. Waiting for her to get to school so we could chat. About yearbook about how classes were going about her new puppy who she loved about anything and everything. I would grab her Culver’s for lunch some days when I was going out for lunch. Her Culver’s order was a kids meal cheeseburger only ketchup with fries and cheese sauce. Ms. Moore was my best friend in a high school that never noticed me. It’s now November of my Junior year. We’re on Thanksgiving break it was a normal day. I was sitting in my room playing sims. (😂😂) when all of a sudden my phone starts getting blown up. Things like “I’m so sorry.” “Is it true?” “Did you hear?” I didn’t hear anything. I assumed a friend was dead and instantly texted a few to make sure they were okay. All my friends were okay… check. Mom and dad are upstairs and okay… check. Little brothers still screaming at his video games up stairs…check…. and then someone sent me the link. The link to her obituary, Ms. Moore is okay…. not a check. I was in shock. I ran upstairs and I was hysterical. My parents couldn’t even understand what I was trying to say or do. Until I finally just gave them my phone. I went to school that next day and the principal was sitting in her desk. I stopped. A teacher asked me if I had her as a teacher I lied and said no. So they didn’t ask me “ are you okay?” Like everyone else did the rest of the day. I spent the rest of my High school career devoting everything in that yearbook to her. At the end of 2020 in my senior year I received the Ms Aubri Moore scholarship award. When I turned 18 that July my first tattoo is a kite with the words “live your best life” she had kites in her classroom and it’s the last thing I remember her saying to me. In 2021 I started photography. I instantly fell in love with the camera and the people and the creativeness. In 2024 I asked Ms Moore’s family if it would be okay to use her name in my photography business name because without her I wouldn’t be where I am now. Without her pushing me to live my best life I wouldn’t have ever picked a camera up. Everything I do now is to make her proud. To make sure I am living my best life each and everyday. In September of 2024 I was a finalist for Janesville Wi best of the best photographers. My photography journey really didn’t take off until I met Ms. Aubri Moore. This incredible teacher had an unparalleled impact on me, even after her passing. She made such a significant impact on me during my high school years that it transformed my passion for photography into something extraordinary. She went above and beyond to support and encourage me, even when I doubted my own abilities. Without her guidance, I wouldn’t be where I am today – pursuing photography in college with MATC, while also exploring the exciting world of entrepreneurship in the photography industry. I am forever grateful to Ms. Moore for instilling in me the belief to live my best life every single day. She pushed me to explore my creative boundaries and to constantly strive for excellence. Her words of encouragement resonated deeply with me, and they continue to inspire me as I navigate through my artistic journey. None of this would have been possible without Ms. Aubri Moore’s guidance and inspiration. Wherever she may be up there, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for pushing me to live each day to the fullest.
Hanna , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello, my name is Hanna Grove and I am the owner of Moore Moments. Over the last six years, I have developed and honed my sense of creativity. My goal is to capture and showcase the beauty of life in a world that can often feel chaotic.
In my work, I strive to help people embrace and connect with themselves and their families through the power of photography. I offer empowering photography sessions in the southern Wisconsin area and northern Illinois. My photography work includes capturing moments for families, couples, and individuals, and I have a particular passion for my work with Gabi’s Wings. I am currently enrolled in the commercial photography program at Madison Area Technical College , where I am absorbing as much knowledge as I can to create more artistic, dramatic, and striking images.
While I have been a photographer for seven years, with four years of professional experience and one year in the MATC photography program, my love for the process has never wavered. When I’m not working, I enjoy indulging in hobbies such as reading, playing video games, and bowling, despite not being very skilled at the latter. I also have a cat named Merle Haggard, If I could jet off to anywhere right now, it would be Vienna, Austria, inspired by the lyrics of Billy Joel’s song. Looking ahead, I am excited about the opportunity to continue learning and growing in my photography career. I I offer sessions for seniors families and couples while also providing services for weddings and events! I really think what sets me apart from others is my drive and passion for this art!
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I keep in touch by interacting with my clients on Facebook Instagram and other social medias! I heart react and comment back to anyone who comments on a post I’ve made or a post the clients have shared and I invite everyone to share and spread the word about Moore Moments Photography
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word. Of. Mouth. Word of mouth has always and will always be the best strategy for growing a clientele. When your friend says “OMG. My hair was done by so and so and LOOK AT IT!” You’re immediately gonna start looking into this hairstylist to see what they could do for you as well. Same thing goes for photographers, djs, florists, painters, ECT.
