Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hanif Brown. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Hanif thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I want to be remembered as a mastermind. I want it so whenever someone sees my work, they instantly ask “How did he do that?” or “How did he think of that?”
Whenever it’s my time to go I’d want a statue made of myself.

Hanif, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Hanif Brown also known as IdeaOfSin or just Sin. I’m a photographer and a videographer. I also do a lot of graphic design work, creative directing and PR. I mainly work with my childhood friends/colleagues in our collective called Kult Seven or KU7T. I love to say that “we’re the kulture.”

We’re the “Kulture” because we’ve all paived our own way. Not succumbing to the environment we grew up in and living life our way.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Before I started doing photography seriously I actually wanted to start a clothing brand. This was back in like 2018 when I wanted to start a clothing brand, calling it ‘Andromeda’. The vision got switched when I lived out in Orlando with George DeNoto, also known as YaLocalWhiteBoy. I’d help take his pictures for his social media platforms and that’s when he sat me down and told me that I should go for photography than the clothing brand. So I trusted his word and here I am now.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth actually. People that I’ve worked with and continue to work with, always mentions me in conversations with people asking about photoshoots. Also I’d say social media has definitely been a big part. Having people post the work I did for them and them giving me credit always gets my name out there a little bit more.
