We were lucky to catch up with Hanieh Sigari recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hanieh, appreciate you joining us today. Almost every entrepreneur we know has considered donating a portion of their sales to an organization or cause – how did you make the decision of whether to donate? We’d love to hear the backstory if you’re open to sharing the details.
At Qyral we believe in empowering others with everything we do, from delivering personalized products that really work, to supporting our Consulting Partners as they launch and grow their own businesses. Success should be shared. That’s why we’ve joined the Pledge 1% movement, making a commitment to support nonprofits close to our hearts. Join us on our mission to deliver personalized, science-backed, biocompatible regimens that nourish your skin from the inside and out. Change your skin, change your life, change the world. Socioeconomic factors in the United States prevent women who lack resources from participating and progressing in the workforce, and funding dedicated to addressing this problem does not match the need. Currently, only 1.2% of philanthropic giving goes to women’s issues. On top of that, government funding for women is variable and fails to address their most basic needs.
Investing in women benefits all humanity, and our idea is to give back to nonprofits that support women’s issues, enabling more of them to reach economic independence.
We wanted to embed this mission into the core of our company, right from the beginning. That’s why we have partnered with Pledge 1%, where 1% of the profit from each sale will go towards women’s issues. As a consultant, you have a say on how it’s spent.
Every time you purchase a product, you are contributing to the 1% allocated for women’s organizations that need help. Moreover, if you’re a consultant and actively working with our organization, you will have a say as to how the funds are distributed! In this way we can ensure women’s organizations receive the funding necessary to empower and uplift.
We have chosen to work with Pledge 1% and major companies throughout the US who are also dedicated to the mission of giving back. This global movement aims to inspire, educate, and empower every entrepreneur, company, and employee, by providing companies the tools and frameworks necessary to be a force for good. Pledge 1% member companies are in total control of their programs and decide the causes and nonprofits they want o support based on their company’s interests.

Hanieh, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I came to America at six years old, the daughter of an Iranian social worker. Those first years in a new country were hard, but in my mom I had an amazing role model for what a strong woman can achieve! As I’ve grown, I’ve often relied on the lessons she taught me. She helped war widows, who had lost everything, to start over and take ownership of their own futures. To me, my mom embodies the spirit of the American Dream. She inspired me to not only work hard and become successful, but to find greater meaning in my success. It’s why I founded Qyral—not just to disrupt the beauty and healthcare industries, but to help other women become successful as well. Together, we can achieve anything!
The idea for Qyral came from my (very common) frustrations with the beauty industry. I was sick of serums that promised to “reverse aging overnight!” or “soothing” creams that made my skin break out. Why was it so hard to find products that simply worked like they said they would?
The problem, I learned, came from making skincare products for the mass market. We’re all unique, and our skin has unique needs based on our genetics and lifestyle and even our location. Making skincare products that are truly effective means finding ways to personalize them for each individual.
So I did.
Qyral’s proprietary algorithm matches individual customers with personalized, clinically formulated skincare products and dietary supplements that give their skin what it needs to function at its best. It might sound simple, but Qyral technology is at the cutting edge of both manufacturing and biochemistry. And because it’s a learning engine, it gets better and better all the time.
Getting the first products right took years, but now the investment in our algorithm and technology can be applied in even more exciting ways. If we can create personalized skincare products for every individual, why not healthcare products? And nutritional supplements? This is the future! It’s 2022—why shouldn’t your products be made for you?
We’re currently launching our first product line expansion, combining Telehealth services with personalized, prescription-grade products to diagnose and treat a wide range of skin conditions. Thanks to our technology, we can even help people who suffer from skin problems that don’t have traditional over-the-counter or cosmetic remedies. I’m so excited to see what the future brings, and with our proprietary technology, I know we’ll always be at the cutting edge!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I have a complete aversion towards the term “failure”. No such thing since it’s only a stepping stone onto bigger and better things. You only fail if you give up, and when you have a big mission and full conviction in what you’re doing, you will never give up!
Of course, there are tons of challenges in when you’re an entrepreneur. Not having enough to make payroll has in the past kept me up at night. Not seeing the type of growth you were hoping for. Balancing and prioritizing time with family and friends. The most challenging has really been motherhood and a full focus on my business. Before having kids, my work ended when my eyes gave out and my fingers couldn’t type. I could work 16/18 hour days without a problem. After having kids, that’s no longer possible, and I am not willing to sacrifice my time with my children. They are the most important things in my life. Which means a lot of prioritizing! Also, my health and fitness is very important. So I wake up at 4AM and start my day with fitness. I say no to many things I would normally say yes. I try to be as present as possible when I’m with my children and make sure the few hours we have together are the most rewarding memorable hours of their day.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
This is tough question because there are so many good ones! Angela Duckworth’s grit is always a really good read. I’m all about mindset before skillset, so anything by Neville Goddard. I find anything by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes to be incredibly powerful and a symbol of the strong feminine.
