We recently connected with Hamilton Hardin and have shared our conversation below.
Hamilton, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I started playing music when I was 4 years old, but I didn’t feel the call to artistry until my late teens. I really started digging into creating original music, with purpose.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Kee, Lucia Parker, Take 6, Kenny Latimore, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, William McDowell, Ruben Studdard and many others.
Hamilton Hardin has released two records: “Just Wanna Say” in 2014, and “Pray” in 2020; and his latest 2025 release, “Filled With Wonder”.
He serves as founder and Executive Director of Future Star, a nonprofit organization that aims to bring music industry professionals to schools all over the world; teaching young people to use art to bring environmental awareness to their communities.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Hearing the finished product, yourself, is rewarding. The process from start to finish, actually, isn’t enjoyable. It can be challenging to stay the course. But the most rewarding aspect is hearing from those who have been truly touched by your art. I’ve had dozens of messages sent telling me how my music has saved marriages, or even prevented suicide.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Artists in the music industry don’t thrive as nearly as well as they did before streaming services took over. Artists get percentages of a penny per stream. I think the societal community can support the artists they believe in by donating to the process. Projects range from $20k-$100k; and as independent artists, it’s a challenge continue to create.
