We were lucky to catch up with Hallie Young recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hallie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I started my business with a clear vision: to create a healthier, happier world by helping individuals embrace movement. As a public health professional, I’m deeply rooted in the evidence that physical activity is transformative—not just for physical health, but for mental wellbeing, self-efficacy, and even social connections. Movement truly is medicine, and the science continues to reinforce this belief.
My hope is that my business makes it easier for more people to integrate movement into their lives, creating a ripple effect of positivity. I aspire for the individuals I work with to live fuller, richer lives because of our interactions. To me, prioritizing health isn’t about vanity or perfection; it’s about creating a foundation for a happier, more vibrant life.
The fitness industry has long relied on shame, guilt, and unrealistic ideals, often encouraging people to punish themselves in the pursuit of “perfect” bodies. I want my legacy to stand in opposition to that narrative. My mission is to help people move their bodies not because they feel inadequate, but because they love and value themselves. Fitness should be empowering, compassionate, and inclusive—a celebration of what our bodies can do rather than a critique of how they look.
I want to inspire a cultural shift in how we view health and fitness, moving away from individual punishment and towards a focus on communal wellbeing. Through positivity and encouragement, I aim to motivate people to embrace movement as a form of self-care and as a way to contribute to a healthier society.
For me, success is measured by the positive impact I can have on others’ lives. I hope my business reaches as many people as possible and leaves them feeling capable, inspired, and committed to caring for themselves—not just for their own benefit, but for the greater good.
Ultimately, I want to be remembered as someone who changed the narrative, who made fitness accessible and joyful, and who empowered individuals to lead healthier, happier lives. My legacy, I hope, will be one of compassion, connection, and lasting positive change.

Hallie , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a certified fitness trainer and public health professional with a passion for helping others live happier, healthier lives. I discovered my love for fitness in 2016, after struggling with fatigue, low confidence, and stress for years. The gym became a safe haven and growth space for me, and I knew that I wanted to help others experience the same transformation. After earning my Master’s in Public Health and becoming a certified trainer, I’ve had the opportunity to help countless individuals improve their health and wellbeing.
What sets me apart as a trainer and public health professional is my focus on individualized care and holistic wellness. I believe that health is about more than just exercise and nutrition – it’s about addressing the unique needs of each client, including their mental health, stress levels, and sleep habits. My expertise in public health has also given me a deep understanding of the social determinants of health and how to create sustainable behavior change.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of clientele for me has been getting in front of as many people as possible and sharing my passion for improving wellbeing. My work is purpose-driven, and I pour my heart into it, which I believe resonates with others. In a saturated industry, it can feel overwhelming to stand out, but over the past year, I’ve embraced the idea that my uniqueness is my superpower.
I’m deeply committed to serving others and improving their overall wellness, and that passion shines through in my work and my interactions. Starting my business has taught me the value of trusting that when you lead with authenticity and purpose, you’ll naturally attract the right clientele. This approach has allowed me to build genuine connections and foster a community that’s not only excited to work with me but also shares my vision.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The best thing I did on my entrepreneurship journey was hire a life coach. None of us know everything and it’s okay to admit your strengths and weaknesses. Working with someone who holds me accountable and helps me lean into my strengths has been life changing. Through my work with my coach I have been able to transform my mindset and build resilience to overcome the challenges of starting your own business. This process has allowed me to stay focused on my mission and vision, ensuring they always take precedence over ego. It’s been a powerful way to ensure that meaningful, impactful work gets done.
