We recently connected with Halley Prince and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Halley , thanks for joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
Timing is everything. If I could go back in time I wouldn’t change anything. I have always been ahead of the curve with my hustle mindset. However, I had to experience failure to understand what it takes to be successful. All of my losses have made me who I am today. Whether it be people I lost on the way, lost money, dropping out of college, ect it has all made me realize those losses equip me for what is ahead for me. When I started my business, I was at my lowest point in my life from failure. When I dropped out of college it inspired me to create my own opportunity. I call dropping out of college my “greatest failure,” because I got a win out of a loss.

Halley , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve realized that my craft, business, ect goes beyond just providing video services. My branding is about inspiring others. That includes clients and people inside as well as outside my industry. If you give humans the confidence that they can do anything, they will achieve it. Besides, bringing visions to life, I inspire and connect with people. That’s what I’m most proud of from my brand is that I leave an impact.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
When I first started doing camera work, I was working at a sneaker store as a manager. I remember shooting videos in my striped shirt and slacks because I had to be to work in a couple hours. Once I started getting more bookings, I realized I had to fully dedicate all my time to my business in order to grow. So I quit my job and started filming videos full time. This was a huge milestone for me because this forced me to give my all into my business.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective way I grow my clientele is going to events and meeting new people. Whether that be at networking events, local shows, or passing by at the recording studio, I have found that I almost always secure bookings when interacting with people in person. In person interactions are more memorable than a message on social media. Therefore, they feel more comfortable. to work with me versus a competitor.
