We were lucky to catch up with Halle Deneen recently and have shared our conversation below.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Prior to starting my own modeling agency, I was and still am a model. Throughout my experience as a model, I made sure that I made powerful positive connections. I networked with everyone from models to producers and casting directors. One thing that I value is professionalism. I pride myself on remaining professional no matter what. Professionalism is a huge aspect of my reputation.
My expertise as a model contributed to my role as a model coach. I started my model coaching business when I graduated from Howard University in 2017. I held classes in Baltimore, MD, Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, and more! Right before the global pandemic hit, I pivoted and created an online program full of modeling courses for models to access from all over the world.
I wanted to create access for models who were unable to attend my in-person courses.
I’ve helped models get signed to major modeling agencies and land modeling jobs with major brands.
I’ve always had a gift and I knew it was time to further expand this gift.

Any advice for managing a team?
My biggest advice would be to stay true to your core values and to be a great listener. When I first began to strategize how I wanted my agency to operate and run, I knew that I had to have strong core values in place. These core values keep the business in alignment with its goals! It is also at the base of who I decide to join the team as a model, business partner, etc.
Managing a team means nothing if you do not possess strong leadership skills.
My agency would be nothing without my models; therefore, I am always seeking to grow together.
I value the art of being a good listener. Listening to their needs, wants, and values. It helps me to understand how I can grow and expand myself as an agent.
Management is not a dictatorship, it’s a collaboration.
