We recently connected with Halie And Mckenzie Lewis and have shared our conversation below.
Halie and McKenzie, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
A project that is very special to us is our wellness course, It Girl Summer. Something we really believe in, and often discuss on the podcast, is that no matter what, you will always have yourself at the end of the day. Therefore, you need to nurture and take care of yourself. Because we are so passionate about this, we decided to create a tool to help others nurture their feminine energy and take care of themselves in a well-rounded way. The course is 5 weeks long, self-guided, and self-paced, focusing on a different aspect of wellness each week.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are Halie and McKenzie, sisters, best friends, and hosts of the Real Talk About Feminism Podcast. Three and a half years ago, Halie recorded the first episode in her conservative college town a few months after She had been sexually assaulted. She was attending a private religious college and was assaulted by another student. When she reported it, she was not believed by the church leaders. McKenzie joined in the second episode, and the brand was born.
At Real Talk About Feminism, we discuss a variety of topics including feminist current events, highlighting inspirational women, a woman’s right to choose, breaking down the patriarchy, and more. Through these discussions, we raise awareness, share our stories, bring on engaging guests, and more.
Our goal is to engage in lighthearted and meaningful conversations, making complex topics accessible and relatable. You can catch our episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and wherever you get your podcasts.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Supporting smaller creatives is so important! We’ve connected with many people who, like us, might not have huge audiences but offer incredible perspectives and messages. As creatives, we know how vital it is to be our own biggest fans. Our passion is what drives “Real Talk About Feminism,” and we’re dedicated to sharing our messages and raising awareness.
Social media has been a great tool for connecting with other creators. It’s been so much fun to see others pursue their passions just like we do and to build a community of like-minded people.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
We are passionate about empowering women around the world through our messages. Over the years, we have explored a diverse range of topics, including global feminist movements, feminist history, women’s rights, and more. We believe in the power of sharing our stories to inspire and support others, and we encourage everyone to use their voices as well. By fostering a space where stories and experiences are exchanged, we hope to create a ripple effect of empowerment and solidarity.
