We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Haley Westfall. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Haley below.
Haley, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, I spent about 20 years in the corporate leadership space. After an unexpected layoff, I found myself reflecting on my skill set, interests and desired lifestyle to come up with businesses that checked all of those boxes while staying on my own terms. With a Masters in Leadership and a background of leading teams of all sizes one thing was glaringly clear from this reflection – what I loved above all else was people. Coupling that love with my super power of bringing incredible humans together, both The Table™️ and Collab Culture™️ were born. Spaces for entrepreneurs, small business owners and professionals to create in impactful ways and cultivate purposeful relationships. I was on a mission to create experiences that were distinctly different and that is exactly what I did.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve been a super connector for as long as I can remember. From the playground, to the dugout, to the campus, to the workplace – bringing people together has always been a special superpower. I find great joy in leading with a servant heart and making others feel seen, heard and valued. When I decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship, I knew that these traits would be a cornerstone in anything that I built. The Table is about creating opportunities for intimate connection regardless of the size of the room. To create conversations that are deeper, connections that are stronger and relationships that extend beyond business. Whether it’s a 1:1 coffee chat or a large scale 2 day conference, my goal is to shine the light for others while learning along the way. I believe firmly that every single one of us is just 1 conversation or connection away from the catalyst to transform the future of our business and life and when you realize the truth of that statement it completely transforms the way you look at building your business network.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
One of the things that I pride myself on is the way that others speak of me in rooms that I am not in. I put immense intention in cultivating individual relationships with others and it has paid off for me tenfold and then some. When I meet you, I’m invested in YOU as a person. I believe firmly that relationships build on trust and respect are the key to a sustainable foundation to build your business upon. Through my personal relationships (and personal brand online) I have had the opportunity to connect with so many incredible people both locally and across the globe. The key to this growth: always serve first. If you are able to so selflessly and be patient, the rest will undoubtedly come.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me is hands down word of mouth referrals. Intentional creation of a strong network has allowed me to build trust with so many incredible business owners who now refer clients to me consistently. Whether it’s through consulting, live events or even tuning in to my podcast – being edified by my friends, peers etc is the greatest compliment I could ask for.
