Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Haley Lockrem. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Haley, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on was leading a portion of the digital advertising efforts for the Inside Out 2 movie. Working in the entertainment industry, I’m lucky to work on a lot of exciting projects, but this was something special. My talented team and I worked tirelessly to create and manage campaigns that would resonate with people, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the film become a massive box office success. What made the project particularly meaningful was the message behind the film. Inside Out 2 explores the journey of a young girl learning to navigate new emotions, which struck a chord with so many people around the world. It wasn’t just a movie, rather a tool for emotional growth. On release day I was able to celebrate and see the film with my team, which was super exciting! After leaving the theater I called an Uber to take me home, and my driver shared with me that he was an elementary school teacher and he couldn’t wait to see the film! He planned to use the movie as a resource to help teach his students about emotions. That moment was so powerful for me. It reminded me that the work I was doing wasn’t just about selling movie tickets. It was about contributing to something that could make a meaningful impact in the world. Being part of a project that resonated deeply with so many people and had the potential to shape conversations around the emotions we all experience was incredibly fulfilling. It made me realize how far reaching my work in entertainment marketing can be. Though I played a very small part in a massive project, it truly made me love what I do.

Haley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
`My name is Haley and I’m a digital marketing professional in the entertainment industry, with a passion for creating impactful campaigns that bridge the gap between brands and audiences. My journey into marketing began in college, where I took an internship course that led me to work with a nonprofit organization in Kauai, Hawaii. There, I joined the small but mighty marketing team and I quickly fell in love with the process of blending creativity with data analysis. The experience taught me how to manage marketing efforts while staying grounded in measurable results. After graduating from college, I honed my skills at a couple of marketing agencies, where I gained valuable experience across various industries. But it wasn’t until I entered the entertainment sector that I truly found my niche. Now, I manage advertising campaigns and targeting strategies for projects ranging from streaming releases to large-scale theatrical films. My job involves understanding audience behavior, tailoring messages to different demographics, and optimizing campaigns to ensure maximum engagement. Ultimately, I help my clients solve the challenge of cutting through the noise in a crowded, competitive marketplace and reaching the right people with the right message at the right time. I’m most proud of the successful campaigns I’ve worked on for some major releases, and seeing the tangible results and impact on the success of those projects. Above all, I want people to know that I’m a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, ever evolving industry. I’m passionate about what I do, and I love finding new, innovative ways to reach people and drive results.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Yes, there have definitely been a few key resources that have significantly shaped my approach to management. One of the most influential books for me is “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. The book emphasizes how small, incremental changes can lead to significant long-term results. This idea has shaped how I manage both personal productivity and team dynamics. In the digital marketing space, where success often hinges on consistency and attention to detail, adopting this mindset has helped me create more effective processes, refine strategies and improve campaign performance over time.
