Haley, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career

If I were to consider changes to our educational system, one of the most significant shifts would be to challenge the notion that a college degree is a prerequisite for success. This belief feels outdated and does not accurately reflect the realities of today’s job market. As someone who holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, I have firsthand experience in recognizing that my current position does not require a degree at all.

In our rapidly evolving world, we need to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship more than ever. There are countless opportunities to generate income and create value simply by thinking creatively and embracing innovative ideas. While obtaining a college degree can undoubtedly provide a wealth of knowledge and open certain doors, the true essence of success often lies in the ability to become a business owner and share your passion with the world. This is an experience that traditional education may not provide. By reimagining our educational priorities, we can empower individuals to pursue their unique paths and cultivate a generation of thinkers and creators who drive progress and change.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I entered the real estate industry after relocating to San Diego due to my wife’s Navy career. For a long time, I had a passion for real estate but never took the plunge until I arrived here. Having spent many years in a traditional 8-5 job, I felt the urge for a change, which ultimately led me to pursue a career in real estate.

As a realtor with a certification for first-time homebuyers and as a proud military spouse, I strive to treat my clients the way I would want to be treated if our roles were reversed. This profession holds great significance for me, as I have the privilege of assisting individuals and families in embarking on one of the most important chapters of their lives.

One of my greatest sources of pride is being a positive role model for my children. Every achievement I’ve made in my life serves a s a guiding example for them as they navigate their own career paths. I firmly believe that with perseverance, self-belief, and dedication anyone can achieve their dreams, as long as they are committed to pursuing them.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Being a realtor exemplifies the essence of resilience. This profession often requites stepping into an arena filled with uncertainty, where you might find yourself unsure of when your next paycheck will arrive. The initial phase of a real estate career can be particularly daunting, as it is rife with unpredictability and challenges. I faced numerous obstacles during my early days in this career, but I soon realized that be dedicating myself to continuous learning and actively participating in my community, I could carve out a space for myself as a reliable and respected realtor in my area.

Establishing oneself in this competitive industry demands a commitment to consistency, even when circumstances feel overwhelming or discouraging. It is this unwavering determination and perseverance that ultimately leads to success in real estate. By staying focused and resilient, you can navigate through the ups and downs, ultimately building a fulfilling and prosperous career.

Let’s move on to buying businesses – can you talk to us about your experience with business acquisitions?

In addition to my work as a realtor, my wife and I have ventured into the car rental business. From my experience, I’ve learned that the key elements to successfully launching your own business are having a strong drive, clear vision, and ultimately believing in yourself. In today’s landscape, entrepreneurship has become increasingly prevalent, and we sought to create a source of income while also owning something that truly belongs to them.

Being an entrepreneur provides the freedom to set your own schedule and offers greater flexibility in managing your time. This lifestyle can lead to a sense of peace, as it allows to escape the grind of a traditional 40- hour workweek. As I mentioned earlier, embracing entrepreneurship is the direction in which the world is heading today. With just a vision and the determination to bring your ideas to life, you can make a significant impact and carve out your own path.

I am truly grateful that I made the decision to become a business owner. Initially, it can be quite intimidating because the future is uncertain and unpredictable. However, as I mentioned earlier, if you possess a clear vision, strong determination, and ultimately believing in yourself, there’s no reason you can’t achieve success. Embracing this journey has proven to be incredibly rewarding.
