Haley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
The product idea of a 90 day habits journal came from a need that I had for my own business. I was a successful network marketing professional and the tools I needed weren’t out there. I started creating these tools and systems that I was using to have success and then I realized that there were probably other people out there like me that this product could really help. I took pen to paper and I wrote out my idea and called my friend Niki Marinaccio who was great with design – she put together a prototype that we now call the 90 Day Cycle to New Habits Journal. Next, we had to figure out how to self publish this journal and get it in the hands of our target market which was network marketing professionals. We found that Amazon has a self publishing agency called KDP and we were able to upload our files and get our product. Next we had to figure out how to get our product out there in the market to help people. We created social media accounts across multiple platforms as well as utilizing amazon to ship our products. Our marketing consisted of how can we help and add value to people. We also wanted to utilize influencers so we sent out 100 journals to top leaders in our industry for free. We asked them to share and tag us on social media – this organic marketing strategy resulted in 1,000 copies sold in our first month through Amazon. This then resulted in us creating our own website and hiring a marketing firm to run ads. Everything seemed to be running smoothly until we didn’t see return from our ad spend and our marketing efforts. We went back and forth through several marketing agencies trying to find that magic bullet that would increase sales. What we found after 3 years after starting our business 90dayhabits.co there’s no magic bullet. Even though we have a product that people love, building a business takes more than just a great product. We have learned that to have a successful business it’s all about building relationships with your customers, showing people you care and adding value. It also takes using all the platforms not just ads to get exposure and being authentic and genuine on how you can help people grow their business.

My name is Haley Duncan, I have an MBA and I’ve been a top performer in the real estate, financial planning and network marketing industries. I am also a mom to three, a wife and have been blessed to be able to work from home as a network marketing professional. With a busy life and the opposite of a type A personality, I found myself using 4 different journals, notebooks and trackers to build my business. I found that my business growth was directly related to not just activity but mindset plus activity over 90 day cycles. When I began tracking this, my business volume increased by 200%. In 2020 I co created the 90 Day Habits Journal to help myself and my team grow and realIzed there was a need in the market place for this product. The 90 Day Cycle to New Habits Journal, is a Network Marketer’s guide to create strong business habits through 60 minutes of daily focus over the course of a 90 day business cycle. If you are in the network marketing profession this is a must have to grow your business and duplicate.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Sometimes you’re looking for something and it’s looking for you. I was looking for someone who wanted to partner with me in terms of personal growth, business growth, friendship and community – and I was introduced to Sandy Critides and her husband Wade Critides. They had a big vision and big dreams and had also reached the top 1% in their network marketing profession. We were all on a plane coming from a training retreat and we were sharing our goals and vision and we all had this vision of helping more people have success in our industry by creating a system for success all in one place. On the plane we sketched out the 90 Day Habits Journal. We became a partnership and have been aligned in our vision and growing our business since we started it 2 years ago.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In the beginning, building our social media audience was very much focused around what our content would look like. We had to post content that was going to advertise our product while also being a place where we could add value. We wanted network marketers to be able to come to our page and learn tips and tricks that they could apply to their own businesses as well as give them a product and solution to their all of their problems. We posted content that we knew network marketers would re share and spread the word organically. We also used popular hashtags, location tags, hidden alt text on our pictures – anything that would attract more eyes and views to our page and product. We were promoting our posts as ads on Instagram and advertising on our personal social media accounts, while also having influencers promoting us on their pages as well.
