Haley , appreciate you joining us today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new venture – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?

Before I began creating UGC, I was (and still am) a SAHM. I tried all of the different “make money from home” ideas that you could find online and could never find something realistic that would truly work with having 2 kids at home with me. \

In June of 2022, I first heard of UGC (User Generated Content) and genuinely felt like that was something I could do to create a true income from home with my babies at my side.

I was already doing the Influencer part, and had years of experience creating content for myself. Why not make content for brands to post?

I am a die hard skincare lover, so I decided to grab some of my favorite products and create some aesthetic videos that make the product look super valuable and that would make consumers want to buy it.

I ended up putting those videos into a portfolio, and posting my work on my TikTok under UGC categories so any brands that were looking for UGC creation, would see my work and hopefully want me to do the same for their brand.

I ended up having a skincare brand reach out to me via email and they loved a video I did for one of the skincare products I had at home already, and they wanted me to do something similar with their product!

That was my very first UGC deal and I was so excited that this was actually doable for me!

Ever since, my inbox is full of brands wanting UGC for their products & I am so blessed to be able to choose the brands I want to work with.

I’ve worked with so many brands – from skincare, beauty, apparel, food, fragrance, books, technology, etc.

I am super grateful!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a 27 year old SAHM who was desperate for a way to make money from home with my babies by my side.

I found UGC Creation in 2022, which is essentially creating content for brands to run ads with or simply post on their social media accounts.

I developed a huge passion for creating aesthetic content that shows different products in a valuable light that would make consumers stop and find an interest in the product.

It’s my job to create eye catching content that stops people on social media from scrolling, and directs them to the brand!

What sets me apart from other UGC Creators, is that ideas that I put into my videos that you don’t see a lot. I work really hard to make videos and content that grabs peoples attention because it isn’t the same “ad” content you see all the time on TikTok.

I am able to create a full time income, with my two month old and 3 year old at my side & I couldn’t be more thankful to God for giving me this opportunity!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

The driving force for me with my business, is my family. I have two kids – 2 months and 3 years, that I am trying to provide the best life for. I have so lucky to have a husband who works full time and for the last 3 years, paid for every bill, grocery run, piece of clothing and fun activity all by himself.

Being a stay and home mom, I was tired of asking for money, or feeling guilty not being able to help when money was tight. I wanted to be able to buy my son ice cream without feeling bad about it. My husband and I have dreams that we so badly want to achieve like buying a home on land, or getting our dream cars etc.

Now we are both grinding towards our goals and dreams, and I have my own money to buy my toddler a toy here and there.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I had to unlearn that making money online isn’t easy just because you see something else making 10k a month.

Social Media is so misleading, and I see so many creators posting about how they are making 10k IN THEIR FIRST MONTH with UGC “and here’s how you can too!”. So many creators are trying out UGC and failing because they have a false idea of the hard work that is needed for this gig.

I learned quickly that UGC required motivation, hard work and creativity but most of all PATIENCE.
