Alright, Hakeem thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
Many clients get a tattoo after a loved one pass away. Those are the most important to me. I’m honored they trust me to deliver a beautiful memorial tattoo, so I put my heart and soul into it.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are “SkinSurffers” a professional surf themed tattoo studio, established on September 10th 2022. We are located on 5913 Clinton hwy. our second location we established June 3rd 2023. We have 5 diverse artists in total (including me).“Life long chains” is a permanent jewelry service we partnered with to expand our brand and to offer something new to Knoxville. We put a lot of effort in our art, customer service and cleanliness.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I wanted people to see the journey from the very beginning. Everyone wasn’t supportive but I expected that. I stayed consistent and ambitious. I was in love with tattooing and everyone who was watching could see my growth. I had a few mistakes along the way but it’s a part of learning. I wanted them to see it all good, bad, and ugly. Consistency is what grew my clientele. Repetition is what expanded my art. Ambition is why I’m the owner of SkinSurffers tattoo studio.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
There was a market that was in demand but there was no one in Knoxville who provided this particular service.. Life long chains was created, a permanent jewelry service, owned by Maria Zarate. Located in SkinSurffers tattoo studio.
