Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hailey Pietraszewski. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hailey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
I was born with the gift of gab! One of my friends was talking to me about how it was important to have a creative outlet. I realized that although I had a full time job, I still craved to do something more with my spare time. While yapping to my friends, I jokingly suggested that I should just write down all my weekly updates and send it via an email. To my surprise, they loved the idea. At that moment it all clicked. I am the type of person that needs to go all in once I have decided on an idea. I was going to start a newsletter. Even if only my friends read it, I would be happy that I was giving my creative side time to shine. I worked on an outline that I would follow week-to-week. There was not much planning before my launch of the newsletter but once I received genuine interest, I was motivated to take it more seriously. I subscribed to a newsletter website and created social media platforms. Yapple Sauce was born with just a need to yap! The newsletter is still in it’s infancy but it has already grown so much from the initial idea stages!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My full time job is a school psychologist! My newsletter is a pivot from my daily 9-5. Yapple Sauce is meant as a break from the spam emails and to bring back the nostalgia from magazines. The newsletter sends out once a week on Thursdays and conveniently sends around most people’s lunch break. It’s a weekly break from reality to read some silly updates. stories, reviews, and hot takes. The newsletter covers an array of interests whether it be books, movies, podcasts, television, recipes or pop culture. There is truly something of interest for every reader! Yapple Sauce gives a sense of community with the newsletter as readers can submit stories as well! We are for the women who love to yap!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Having a newsletter, subscribers are important! With my newsletter in the early stages, word of mouth has been the most effective strategies. So many loyal followers have gotten their friends to subscribe to Yapple Sauce. I also personally reached out to people on social media and gave my pitch! This was completely out of my comfort zone but I have not regretted any DM, I have sent and everyone has responded positively.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal of the Yapple Sauce is to bring positivity to people when so much of social media and the news is filled with the opposite. Every time someone tells me that reading the newsletter brings them joy, I am filled with a sense of accomplishment!
