We recently connected with Hailey Gabhart and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Hailey, thanks for joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My parents shaped me in ways that show up in everything I do.
My mom always taught me to treat people the way I’d want to be treated, and that became the heart of how I move through the world. It is in the way I talk to people, the way I work, the way I create. It is why I try to make anyone around me feel safe and understood, whether they are listening to my music or trusting me with their face as an esthetician.
My dad taught me to stay solution oriented and to always work on bettering myself. When life got hard, he never let me sit in the problem. It has helped me while building my business and growing as an artist.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and esthetician. Besides singing as a young kid, I actually started in the beauty industry first. I became an esthetician as a teenager, and for many years I had no interest in music. I poured everything into building my career making others look and feel beautiful. The beauty industry has given me stability and a way to care for people in a real, hands-on way.
Eventually, I found my voice again and learned how to balance both sides of my life. I moved to NYC and obtained my bachelors degree from the ROC Nation School of Music. Now I’m releasing new music soon, and I’m back in California doing lashes, hair removal, and skincare treatments in San Diego, while also taking lash clients and making music in LA. My beauty page on IG is @healedbyhailey, and my music is @haileyheart333. My songs are available on all streaming platforms.
What sets me apart is that I lead with heart in everything I do. In beauty, I’m known for being gentle, detail-oriented, and efficient, giving clients results that feel natural and comfortable. In music, I share stories that come from real emotion and real growth.
I’m proud that I can build a business with my hands and a career with my voice. I didn’t give up on either part of myself, and that’s what I want people to feel when they experience my services and hear my music.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I remember hitting one of the lowest points in my life and listening to Tony Robbins. My dad used to make me listen to him growing up, and I honestly never paid much attention at the time. But when I really wanted to change my life, his words clicked. He helped me shift my focus, see opportunities instead of obstacles, and approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset—the same mindset my dad always tried to instill in me.
Beyond that, the Word of God has been my guiding force. It has shaped my values, my ethics, and the way I interact with people, both personally and professionally. It keeps me grounded and reminds me that the work I do, whether in music or beauty, is most meaningful when it comes from a place of integrity and heart.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’ve had many experiences that have really tested my resilience, especially while I was living in New York, going to school full time for music while also running my lash business. During those four years, I lost four people I loved. Being so far from home when that happens was incredibly hard, but I was committed to my path and my mission, away from everything I knew and loved, except for my dog, Kash, who was my whole world.
One of the hardest moments came the day before my last college final, when Kash passed. I was devastated. I went into my biology exam that next morning carrying that heartbreak, and somehow I pushed through and got a 101%. It wasn’t just about the grade. It was about showing up, continuing to work, and honoring what I had been building, even when my heart was breaking. That experience taught me that resilience isn’t about not feeling pain; it’s about moving forward anyway, with heart and determination.
