Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Haden Vidrine, Jordan Gloston and Joshua Rose. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Haden, Jordan and Joshua, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
When my team and I had the idea for Wonder, we immediately started to contemplate ideas for growth. We created a design that night and worked hard for months planning how we would start. We ended up ordering a sample for our first design, and while it wasn’t perfect, it showed us the reality of what we were working on. We stayed up countless nights working on creating a website, an LLC, getting our company bank account, and everything else we needed to ensure we could legitimize WNDR. Once we had the behind-the-scenes work done, we purchased our first drop. We had our first photoshoots, filmed promotional videos, and finally, our first drop was live. This process as a whole was eye-opening – all of our hard work had come to fruition, and we were proud. We were able to get LSU Women’s Basketball star Angel Reese wearing our first set, as well as the famous rapper NLE Choppa’s cameraman Abail Demena. Once we sold out, we knew we had something special and decided we would continue to build a brand we’ve only dreamt of. We can not express how thankful we are for all of our supporters along the way!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Any advice for managing a team?
We found that communication is key when directing our team to accomplish our goals. In moments of creative burnout, or a pause in business operations, we find that keeping everyone on the team focused on our ambitions helps keep everyone focused. To do this, we must dig into our personal will to create our clothing brand. If we do not continue to improve or grow, we will be reducing the overall impact that we are able to have on ourselves, our families, our friends, our community, our state, our country, and our world. If not us, then who? After we originally wondered about this, we knew we had to act to achieve our dream, and we have not stopped since.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A few months back, we had an idea for a design we felt would greatly impact the community and our brand altogether. Unfortunately, our clothing manufacturer was not able to create what we designed to our standards. Because of this, we lost a lot of time and had to postpone a few events and the drop that we originally planned. We eventually pivoted, something very common in entrepreneurial ventures. We designed a new collection, found a new manufacturer, and continued with our journey.
