Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hadar Greenberg. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi! I’m Hadar Greenberg, the founder of Green Citrus. I’m a branding and marketing strategist and a mom of three, currently living in Prosper, Texas.
I’ve been working in the marketing world for over 15 years. I started Green Citrus because I wanted to do things differently—no cookie-cutter strategies. Just smart, creative, intentional work that helps businesses tell their story in a way that feels true and actually drives results.
At Green Citrus, I work with a wide range of clients—from restaurants and retailers to wellness brands, photographers, community organizations, and more. I help with everything from brand messaging, naming, and strategy to campaign planning and creative direction. I also collaborate with interior designers to bring the brand to life across every space and touchpoint.
What I really love is helping businesses be clear on who they are and how to show up in the world—with confidence, personality, and purpose.

Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
Oh yeah… I’ve had more than a few unexpected turns.
Back in 2019, my business was growing fast. I had a great team, amazing clients, and a solid rhythm. That same year, I bought a wedding planning company I had worked with for years and believed in deeply. I rebranded it, rebuilt the offerings, and spent nine months getting it ready to relaunch.
Launch day? March 15, 2020. You can probably guess how that went.
The pandemic shut everything down—events were canceled, restaurants and event venues (my core clients) closed, and everything I had built came to a screeching halt. I had to let go of most of my team and put the wedding business on hold.
Then, just as I was trying to catch my breath, life threw another curveball. My third child was born with a heart condition that required emergency open-heart surgery when he was just ten days old. That was a defining moment. I stepped back completely to be with him for a whole year. Business took a backseat, and I spent the year focused on keeping him safe and well.
Later that year, we moved across the globe to Texas for my husband’s job. After everything we’d been through, I realized it was time to reset, refocus, and rebuild. I sold the wedding business and brought Green Citrus—and my most loyal clients—with me to Texas. A fresh start, but with all the wisdom those years had taught me.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The COVID shutdown was definitely my biggest pivot. The wedding business I had just relaunched? Not viable in a world of lockdowns. So I shifted. I helped couples create smaller, safer celebrations, including one that was just 10 people and streamed over Zoom. That wedding actually ended up on CNN and Reuters, which was wild.
I also started a Facebook group for couples navigating wedding planning during COVID. It exploded—over 11,000 members. I offered guidance, shared updates on restrictions, and helped people feel less alone. It became a lifeline for so many, and one of the most meaningful things I’ve done.
At the same time, I became a voice for the events industry—talking to government reps, doing TV interviews, and pushing for clear policies to help business owners survive.
Eventually, I realized I wanted to return to what I love most: helping businesses grow with thoughtful strategy. But this time, I expanded beyond hospitality. Today I work with brands that are more resilient—mental health centers, community orgs, beauty and wellness businesses, and online shops. It’s a more balanced mix, and it feels really aligned with who I am now.

Let’s move on to buying businesses – can you talk to us about your experience with business acquisitions?
Yes—I’ve gone through it firsthand. When I bought the wedding planning company in 2019, I already knew the brand well. I had worked for them for five years and truly believed in what it could become. I bought it through a court process after bankruptcy, which meant navigating legal stuff, financials, and a lot of red tape.
Originally, I had a partner lined up, but along the way we realized we had very different working styles. I trusted my gut and we agreed that I would continue solo. I rebranded, restructured, and put my heart into building something new.
Even though the launch was derailed by COVID, I don’t regret it. That experience gave me so much insight—not just into acquisitions and ownership, but into who I am as a leader. It made me braver, sharper, and more clear about the kind of business I want to run and the kind of life I want to lead. And honestly? It taught me how strong I really am.
