We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Haadiyah Flagg. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Haadiyah below.
Haadiyah , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
As a entrepreneur taking risk is essential for business, being to caution when it comes to your business can have you missing opportunities that can elevate you and your business. The biggest risk I have ever took was to move from Upstate, NY to another State to follow my dreams as an entrepreneur. I faced many adversities. I overcame many of those challenges by walking by faith and not by sight. I have moved from NYS to PA to NC and residing in GA. I have made a impact in the community every where I have resided. The risk that I took got me so many amazing experiences and opportunities. There was beauty in the struggle I sacrificed so much in my life to be a successful entrepreneur and still growing and learning through my endeavors. I love to empower, elevate and inspire people with positivity and spirituality. I am currently failing forward towards success by taking radical actions aka taking risk.
Haadiyah , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I became an entrepreneur at age 18. I started selling Mary Kay beauty products in high school and loved being my own boss. I knew being an entrepreneur was for me. I have a diverse background in business, marketing, sales and customer service. I have always been creative and a leader which made me unique. When I came to the south I was able to get more opportunities through my creativity and skills. After experiencing many MLM businesses I launched my own CBD vegan skincare line. The pandemic slowed down my business, which led me to get into acting. I am able to pursue acting, rebranding my skincare line while going back to school for business full time. The city I was raised in Rochester, NY made me strong-willed. I am happy I was able to contribute to my family successes as I’m still developing in my entrepreneurship journey.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I’m 2019 I decided to use my income tax to move myself and my family out of state to Pennsylvania so my mother can also follow her real-estate dream, she is currently a real estate agent! My sister wanted to move to Fayetteville, NC to join Airborne at Fort Bragg. She moved to NC my mother and I shortly followed to be together in 2020. We faced many adversities such as, car troubles, homelessness and much more. I did not allow these challenges to define who I am I accomplished getting back stable with my family along with creating opportunities for myself. I had great opportunities to work with Morris Chestnut, BJ Britt, Lance Gross, YaYa Dacosta, Joe Morton and many more all while being homeless because I am resilient.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I have learned to protect my peace at all cost by not allowing anyone into my life. I was the kind of person to always see the good in others and I realized the potential I seen in others they may never reach that potential by choice. I am very selective of who I am around and conscious of the people I allow into my life. People are unpredictable and will disappoint you because no one is perfect so I put my faith in God first and only depend on me when it comes to accomplishing anything in my life.
