We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gypsy Bae. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gypsy below.
Alright, Gypsy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Naturally, I’ve always been drawn to alternative routines and holistic remedies. In my mid 20s I decided I needed begin a different but familiar path and approach to my life. There were a lot of things I felt weren’t working for me anymore so I created change. I started by creating things to help my spirit and self esteem. I didn’t know a lot of people were into a more spiritual lifestyle like myself so I was surprised when I got so much positive feedback when I started reading tarot cards publicly.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I practiced holistic/hoodoo self care routines before I knew exactly what it was. Something inside of me told me to do things a certain way or add plants and other ingredients to my mix. These things always worked for me. When I begin to publicly show these practices and offer help to others I noticed this was a service many people were in need of. From there I decided to trademark my services and create a small business. With my works I provide many different services. I’m always eager to learn and experience new things so when my clients have specific needs its always a pleasure to go above and beyond to deliver their results. I’m most proud of the community I’ve built and the trust I have within my tribe. A lot of times they are my light when I’m walking deep into my dark tunnels. I want people to understand that this a safe space. We are all constantly growing and healing and my sacred space allows you to let things out with no judgements.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn that I’m still unlearning today is to be aware of your Ego. This can come in many different forms, not only about how you look or what you choose to show but about how you communicate, how you give and receive information. An ego driven thought process will have you processing information through the wrong wavelength. As a conduit for others while understanding their needs I’m forced to put 100% of myself to the side so that I’m used as vessels rather than a bottle with a tight lid.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Books, books, and more books! Even if you don’t read that much make sure you have the tools you need. Self care and how to books are some of my favorites. While in spirit work I listen to different philosophers and spiritual mentors so that I may grasp another prospective.
